Ashlee does well

Watching from afar, Delia let a smile form on her face. For what was her first time playing with people 'her age', Ashlee was doing surprisingly well with them.

"That's my girl." Delia thought and caught a wave from her daughter. Waving back, she watched Ashlee play with the children. Engaging in such a way that she hadn't seen Ashlee do even while as a boy, the mother could tell she was happy here.

"Is that your daughter?" a woman inquired and Delia spun around. Standing before her was a mother. Dressed casually, Delia could only assume that this was the kid of the mother Ashlee was playing with here.

"Yes. Something the matter?" Delia inquired and got a head shake from this other mother. Raising an eyebrow, she took a moment to discern what the mother wanted.

"No. Suzie and I have never seen your daughter and I wanted to introduce myself. Perhaps in the future, we can have a playdate between them?" the mother inquired and Delia nodded. The thought of a playdate did sound quite good here. If nothing else, that would provide Ashlee plenty of opportunities to play with kids her age. Of course, it was probably a good idea to run it past her before assuming that everything would be okay on that front.

"I'll think about it." Delia announced and watched the mother head over to her child. Whispering something to Ashlee, that was all it took to end that encounter. Taking her daughter with her, that was Ashlee's cue to head over. Waving in Delia's direction, she waved back. It was the least she could do here.
