Chapter 7 by rewinlar rewinlar

Where do you go?

No place like home?

A safe place would be good for trying to understand what was really going on. You can't exactly go back to your apartment and the university seemed like a terrible idea. 'Where was she going,' you thought, 'probably back to her apartment. Ok, better than nothing.'

It occurs to you that you don't actually know where she lives. You had talked to her a good number of times but it wasn't exactly like you were best friends. You did know she had a roommate, a girl named Helen, but you could cross that bridge when you got to it.

Taking her phone, you unlock it with her thumb. Swiping through, you open Maps. You see the map of the midsized college town you live in and there are a number of hearts and stores. Trying to remember roughly where she lives, you zoom in. There is a heart - it has to be it.

Walking quickly now, you make your way over. Your gait feels strange, shorter than before. You can feel 'your' hips swaying slightly, it is still disconcerting. Coupled with the purse on your shoulder and the tickle of your newfound ponytail, it is a strange experience. You see the people walking by and you can only imagine what they see - a pretty girl in normal clothing, going about her business. The thought sends something like a shiver through you.

You get to the building and go to the door. Reaching into your pants' pockets you find a key ring. Sliding it in, the lock clicks open. You let out a sigh of relief and walk up the stairs to the apartment, 3E.

Opening the door and stepping in, you see a nicely decorated common area with a table, a TV and a couch. It seemed to be empty. There is a doorway leading to the kitchen and two others. The room was well put together, even adult looking. 'Hmm which one is her room though,' you think?

Gingerly glancing into the rooms, you see one with a pink-sheeted bed and a desk. You look into the other one and see pictures on the wall, a desk with plants and a bookshelf. Looking more closely at the picture you see her - Molly and a group of her female friends, smiling. 'That's it.'

You step in and quickly close the door.
