Flynn Experiments with his new abilities

“So there is someone staying at our Inn!” The plain girl said with a big grin. The girl had brown hair, brown eyes and lots of freckles on her face. She was on the shorter side, but had a nice figure. She was toned and had an olive complexion and was wearing peasant clothing. She must have been around 20 years old.

She continued talking “I almost didn’t believe it when my mom told me we had someone staying at our humble inn.” The plain girl walked towards me and outstretched a friendly hand to shake. “My name is Keffany, what’s yours stranger?”

“My name is Flynn” I said as I shook her hand.

“Well nice to meet ya Flynn! It’s so nice to converse with someone other than my mom. We don’t get many travelers through these parts anymore. Not since they built Crimson Street. It kind of made the path we live on obsolete. Nowadays people rarely stay here. The only attraction nearby is the Purple Forest.” She pointed out the window. “I’m sure you’ve noticed it.” She sat down on the bed next to me and continued talking “So what brings you to these parts Flynn?” she said as she looked at me with a kind smile.

While Keffany had been speaking I had been browsing through the various attributes I could see above her head thanks to my Slide Rule ability. I could view 5 of these attributes at a time. To view more all I had to do was scroll down. In total there were 20 attributes for me to choose from. Some of the attributes I could alter included Hunger, Tiredness, Friendliness, Honesty, and Gullibility. Her friendliness was at an 8 right now, that checked out. I could also see that her Gullibility attribute was at a 7. I decided to try a little experiment to test out my new abilities. I had just been given a second lease on life, and I wasn't going to let it go to waste. I added 2 points to her Gullibility attribute so that it was now at a 9. I think having her Gullibility at a 10 would be overkill and plus, I didn’t know how quickly my points would replenish or if I would need them for something else later.

“Well Keffany, I came to these parts because I’m going into the Purple Forest to fight a monster.” I lied.

“Oh really?” Keffany said. She seemed really interested. I continued with my lie. I needed to see how far I could push it.

“Yeah, there is a monster in there with 400 eyes and 200 arms and if you kill it, it grants you a wish.”

“Oh wow, I’ve never heard of such a monster. Tell me more.

“Yeah, I’m going to fight it using spaghetti magic.”

“Spaghetti magic?” Keffany asked.

“Yeah, it’s a powerful ancient form of magic using spaghetti.”

“Oh wow, that sounds so cool! I didn’t know such a form of magic existed!”

So far so good I thought. I decided to push it a little further.

“So Keffany to beat this monster, I need more mana for my magic. Do you understand?”

“What do you mean?” she asked with a puzzled look.

“Well, I need to kiss you so I have more mana to fight this monster with. Kissing people is the only way for me to gain mana for my spaghetti magic.”

“Um I don’t know about that…” Keffany said as she got off of the bed and walked towards the window.

Drats. I was pretty sure that was going to work. “Fuck it” I thought, as I added another point to her Gullibility.

“Are you sure Keffany?” I asked, hoping for a different outcome this time.

“Actually, now that I think about it, that makes sense. You can kiss me if you need to.”

I got up from the bed and slowly approached her. As I got closer, she closed her eyes and puckered her lips. I leaned in and smelled her hair. It smelled earthy with a slight trace of cinnamon. I gave her a quick peck on the lips and backed off to gauge her reaction.

“Is that all the kisses you needed?” She asked as she opened her eyes to stare at me innocently.

“Um, no I actually need to make out with you for five minutes straight to get my mana where I want it to be." I lied.

“Okay, why don’t we sit on the bed?” She asked as she took my hand and led us to the bed. She again closed her eyes and puckered her lips. I leaned in and started to passionately make out with her. I didn't expect this bumpkin to be a good kisser, but she was. I was thoroughly enjoying myself. But, just when things were really starting to heat up, out of the corner of my eye I noticed a woman entering the room. She dropped what appeared to be laundry and yelled “What do you think you are doing with my daughter!?”
