Picking Teams

“Alright Mimi you volunteered first so you pick first.” Monica said turning the floor over to the two pledges to pick their teams.

“I pick Alannah.” Came her confident reply. The tall athletic girl walked forward and high fived her new teammate.

“Ummm” Blair stuttered. She hadn’t been prepared for this. She’d spent most of the party talking with the current sisters and had only very briefly chatted with each of the other pledges. “I pick Maria.” She decided based on her having been the last girl she’d talked too.

“Europa” Mimi said again with confidence. The dark skinned girl with the Mohawk stepped forward. She was built like a linebacker and easily looked like she could pick up and throw her other two teammates.

Again Blair was stumped. Mimi seemed to have a clear idea as to who she wanted. While Blair again couldn’t decide what strategy she should take. Without any clue what the challenge was it was all a shot in the dark. “Uh let’s go with Mary-Roslyn?” The tiniest of all of the girls stepped forward. Blair had barely spoken to her all night. She seemed to have clung to the walls and sat alone on couches. Blair got the impression that she was very shy, but also that she had had the least to drink of all the girls there so sobriety might help the team out.

“Elissa.” Another confident pick as the chubby girl walked over to join her team. While she wasn’t the looker of the group of them she was certainly the biggest extrovert and the other pledge that Blair had enjoyed talking to the most for her sense of humor.

Blair looked over the remaining three girls between Bruna, Gemma, and Hope. “Bruna!” The blonde tried to say with the same kind of casual confidence that Mimi had. It didn’t work, but all the same the thin pale girl joined her group.

“Gemma.” Mimi said almost laughing as the average girl moved to join her team.

“Well damn!” Hope the tall athletic black girl said with a laugh. “It’s been a really long time since I was picked last for something. I wonder why.” She gave w Ty smile that made Blair laugh as she hobbled over to join her team. She had her right foot in a walking boot having ruptured her Achilles earlier in the semester during volleyball practice.

“Great! We now have our teams!” Monica said stepping forward. She was joined along side Cheyanne and Fiona who had also during the proceedings changed into all black outfits.

“Now your first challenge is…”
