Boss Fight

It was relatively late the next day when Kenny, Ellie, and Nicole woke up and immediately Kenny's mind was dead set on the task at hand. He immediately grabbed a shower, got redressed and while Nicole switched out with Ellie to take a shower as well, the pair immediately began to talk. "I want to go with you."

Kenny finished tying his shoe and looked up at the blonde. Ellie had her chest puffed out, brow narrowed, and fists clenched. Kenny might have thought she looked brave and determined if didn't know what a softy she was underneath. "Not a good idea. Probably best to let me do this on my own."

"What? Why not?" Ellie argued, falling down into an armchair, "She caught both of us. She --" Ellie seemed to surge with genuine anger and frustration for a moment, "Ugh, from the start I told you this was between me and her. You got pulled into it. It's not fair to send you over there alone when this is about both of us."

Kenny gave an easy smile, "Elle, it's alright. I got this, trust me on that. Bella isn't getting the best of me again. One way or another I will handle this today." Ellie crossed her arms and diverted her gaze, clearly not put at ease with his response. "Look, Bella called the shots on the rematch. It was me and her only. You being there might just make her call the whole thing off. But even if she doesn't..." Kenny let out a soft sigh and Ellie looked back to him, "Having you there while she insults you or hurts you again...I won't be able to stay focused. I need to be on my own for this to work. It's the only thing I know for certain."

"Dammit Ken..." Ellie lowered her arms in defeat, "Fine..." With a quick inhale she put on a full, confidence boosting smile for Kenny, "Kick her ass for me." Kenny chuckled and nodded back.

Another twenty minutes passed and the three were now redressed and on their way out of the hotel. While Ellie and Kenny had a few things on their minds, Nicole was still completely reveling in the afterglow of their long shared night. Putting herself between the duo, she put an arm around their waists, "I don't know about you two, but I'd love to do this again."

"Heh, we'll see about that." Ellie halfheartedly replied causing Kenny to curb his response, merely giving a shrug to Nicole.

"Oh no need to be so embarrassed, we all had a good time together. Nothing is going to be awkward unless you make it awkward," Nicole sighed giving her eyes a disappointed roll, "Kenny, you have a natural born talent, and you should embrace that. I know I want you too," The redhead gave him a little squeeze and the teen grinned, "And Elle, I know you made some changes in your last year or so, but think about how much fun that all was. Do you really want to deny yourself that kind of pleasure again?"

Ellie shook out of Nicole's hold and snapped her eyes over to the rocker, "Nikki, cool it. It was a nice night, but -- I'm not that way anymore. Okay? I only did it because it was with Kenny and --" Ellie stopped, her words caught in her throat as she immediately looked over to Kenny who tried to look back at her with calm reassurance.

"Oooooh, right...that..." Nicole cleared her throat and pushed her way ahead, "Hey, I just realized, I have a...thing to do. So I gotta run and you two can just...talk about...some things." Nicole suggested, suddenly feeling very awkward. Anytime relationships got brought up it always made her feel uncomfortable, but this time, she really didn't want to hear what Kenny was going to say. She wasn't sure how'd she take hearing him agree to be with Ellie, "Talk to you two later, thanks for the fun, Clark," Nicole finished with a quick wink and took off, her grimace resting on her lips.

As Nicole disappeared from sight, Kenny turned, tucking his hands in his pockets, "I guess she has a point, huh? Do we need to talk more about what was said last night?"

Ellie nearly flinched, "Uh...no, not now anyhow," She denied, though the **** in her voice was palpable, "We agreed that you need to focus on Bella right now. That can all wait."

"Are you sure? I don't want to leave things floating if it's going to drive you crazy." Kenny sincerely offered, admittedly finding some minor relief at the idea of being able to put off this conversation for a little bit longer. "Whatever you need, Elle."

"What I need is for you to go beat Bella," Ellie smirked and Kenny let out a breathy laugh, "But after?" Ellie nervously nibbled on her lower lip, "Maybe we could talk about what...what's going on between us. A-And the things I admitted to last night. Deal?" Kenny felt relieved, and immediately nodded and gave the girl a thumbs up, "Great. Now come on, I'm going home to change, and you gotta get to Dartwin."

Kenny and Ellie exited the Mountain Lodge Hotel, and with a final glance and wave to one another, got into their cars. However, what Kenny didn't notice was the car parked across the street in a separate parking lot, aimed directly at the hotel. He couldn't see that William Greene was the one in the driver seat watching both his ex-girlfriend and his buddy leaving the same hotel together after clearly being there all night. Will's steely blue eyes locked on Kenny, watching him step for step as he got into his car and drove off. A few seconds later Ellie's car pulled out as well, heading the other way. Will's hand gripped the wheel until he was white knuckled and he turned on his car, pulling out onto the road.

Just wanted to say sorry about the slow uploads recently. This month my job has gotten crazy hectic so it's slowed my time to write. I'm hoping to put out some more chapters soon, and sorry that this one was kinda short, just had to sprinkle in a little set up first haha.
