Turning back would be foolish, the only way was forward! At least that's what Julie convinced herself as she continued along the rooftops. She feared if she retreated she would be too shook up, and get caught off guard. All she could hope for was to find another place to hole up in until it was safe... or at least, more safe than it was now.

After passing over a few more makeshift roof bridges, Julie could continue this way no longer. A wide street separated her current position with the next roof, too far for someone to have bridged the gap. Letting out a groan of irritation, she looked for a way to continue, and saw an emergency fire escape leading to street level. It was probably unwise to try travelling on the ground, but she felt she had little choice, so Julie made her way down to street level.

The emergency fire escape lead to a dark alleyway, numerous bags of garbage and other assorted trash clogging the sides. Julie hid behind a large bin, checking her map on her smartphone. "Crap, that rooftop path didn't get me very far.... Oh well, just gotta make do. Should be a safe place a few blocks away..." She mumbled as she put away her phone and crept forward out of the alley.

The street was thankfully empty, no Pseudosects patrolling them. Julie moved from one hiding spot to another, going slow and keeping alert. She was making smooth progress, and started feeling more confident about her journey, unaware of the danger lurking nearby...
