My girlfriend Jennifer was in the kitchen for a few minutes when I began to wonder what she was doing there for so long. I quickly put on my pants and a shirt and ran down the stairs.

When I was almost at the kitchen door, I heard the voices of Jennifer's brother Ben and his buddy John, the 19-year-old boy next door who we, along with his brother, suspected of throwing a lump of coal in Jennifer's yard last night. "Ben and John, it is completely normal and natural that I can impose my will on others. You will not question it, but simply follow my orders."

The eyes of the two wandered briefly and then became clear again.
