Lie

"I've had sex before."

"With who?"

Dolph made up a lie, subconsciously thinking.

"This girl who wandered in, her hair was black and her eyes were a beautiful light blue. I lead her to the creek and we made love. We fell asleep under the stars."

"That's so romantic" Shira said. Hanna nodded.

"Why would you lead her to a creek?" Klaus said. "And you just had sex with her after meeting? This doesn't add up."

"I'll explain, because girls probably don't approach you." Dolph said. Eden laughed. "The creek just has this sound, water rushing over rocks. It calms you down and makes you feel like you're alone in the world. There's no work, no worries, only the sound of water. You just lie and feel the warm sun against your skin."

"Sounds amazing" Eden said, putting her hand on Dolph's. "I have my own way to relax, that I'll have to show you." Dolph realized she had handed him a note. He tucked it into his pocket.

"Did you have sex with anyone here?" Ingersol said.

"No." Dolph said.

"I thought you and Nanaba-" Klaus said.

"Or him and Felix" Talia said.

"You and Felix would make a cute couple" Hanna said.

"Or him and Anna" Ingersol said.

"We're all good friends. But Nanaba, Nanaba has given me my humanity."

"What?" Klaus said.

"She stopped me from just running. When she told me to carry Anna, I felt like I became more human."

The others looked down, remembering their conduct in the **** race. The conversation became stilted, and those sitting made excuses to leave.

Dolph looked at the note that Eden had handed him. It was a place and a time. Did he want this?
