Time Skip (Spoilers for Season 4 onwards)

The Year is 851

The last year has been extremely eventful following Mina and I joining the Scout Regiment. More of our friends died, hope for humanity was restored, and then subsequently shattered after a few revelations. One of our fellow cadets turned out to be a royal in hiding and eventually got crowned as the Queen of the Walls. She later revealed to everyone the true state of the world which changed everything. We are Eldians, also known as Subjects of Ymir, and we are currently under attack by a nation called Marley. Turns out we were not the sole survivors of a worldwide titan apocalypse and the last hope for humanity. Beyond the Walls, there are countless of humans living in populous cities and other landscapes. All of these revelations were fairly hard to take at first, but there's really nothing I could do about it.

Which brings me to some recent events, we just recovered a ship and captured a bunch of Anti-Marleyan Volunteers. I'm not sure of the exact details but their leader, a tall slender man, began talking with the new commander of the Scout Regiment, Hange Zoe. While the talks were happening, a squad lead by me, the Squad Ralfe if you will, were tasked in guarding the ship. The ship is empty since the Anti-Marleyan Volunteers were taken to the mainland, so it's turned out to be a very easy job. Although, my first time on a ship does make me kind of woozy at times, I was told it was "seasickness".

"How can someone ride this thing..." I said after vomiting at the side of the ship for the umpteenth.

"You'd think you would be better at handling this since we go around our ODM gear all the time," says Mina Carolina, my second-in-command, best friend, and former lover, as she pats my back. Anyway, remember, the leader of the Anti-Marleyan Volunteers is going to return tomorrow to take a few things from this ship."

"That man is coming back, are we going to be reassigned elsewhere soon then?"

"I don't know, I honestly don't mind being on this ship. It looks so fascinating. Who would've thought such machines exists?" Mina looked around in awe for the umpteenth time since she got here. "And look at the ocean! So much water you can see it disappear on the horizon!"

"Yeah, yeah," I said dismissively. This wasn't the first time I heard her excited about all the new things around us. "If you will, I'm going to sleep in my quarters to shake off some of this seasickness. Just wake me up when the Anti-Marleyan leader arrived."

"Yes, sir!" she said in a teasing manner along with a mock salute. It was nice having Mina around, I wouldn't know what would happen if we haven't been friends all this time. Despite her constant teasing, I know she's going to do well.

I laid down on my bunk in a room set aside for me and dozed off to sleep.
