Wearing the boots and chest armor unlocked a set bonus boosting his strength and hp by 10% each but also decreasing reputation gain by 20% and increasing reputation losses by the same amount. It kinda made sense with it being a bandit themed set, but with his current wardrobe issues the last thing he needed was to boost his bad first impression when he would finally reach a village.

Clothes were part of your avatar and not equipped items and somehow it was the same for enemies and npc it seemed. He had not picked the black leather pants with reinforced section that the bandit wore. He had picked an item that was a series of reinforced section supposed to stack on top of whatever clothes an avatar was wearing.

Which meant that the leg armor was a pair of knee pads, two large patches of reinforced leather strapped to his thighs and some sort of codpiece looking like something some athletes wore to avoid painful injuries.

Even ignoring the fact that it would leave him entirely uncovered from behind, this outfit would look more fitting in some sort of bdsm club than on a knight and that was even before ignoring the most glaring issue.
