Where to?

Lauren got in the passenger seat, eager to be out of sight of her nosy neighbors. She breathed a sigh of relief as they started driving, before she realized that she had no idea where they were headed.

"Uh... where are we going?" Lauren asked Vanessa.

"You'll see." Vanessa grinned.

Lauren crossed her arms, pouting. Whatever this surprise was, she doubted it would be good! She slumped over in her seat, her mind looping embarrassing memories of the last day as she nibbled her lip.

Lauren was so distracted by reliving the unpleasant events of the last 24 hours she hardly noticed where they were going until they parked in a lot. Lauren looked around. They were... at the beach! Oh no! It was a hot weekend day, and there were dozens, maybe hundreds of people here. Doubtlessly there would be many people someone as popular as Lauren would know here and they'd all see her... like this!
