Alisha, an ex detective and Nazia's rival

Nazia's face was red with anger and indignation. The face in front of her belonged to Alisha and let's just say, Nazia had quite a history with her.

Alisha and Nazia were in police training academy together years ago but for some odd reason, had started off on the wrong foot. This was a good 10 years ago when Nazia and Alisha were 21 and fresh into police academy. Both were very strong personalities with great ambition and desire to become great police officers but while Nazia put in a lot of effort with everything, Alisha appeared to take everything easy and preferred to have more fun. And despite all that, Nazia always came second best in everything at the police academy - from the intelligence tests to physical tests to analytical tests - Alisha always came first with Nazia a close second. And this infuriated Nazia beyond measure particularly because it felt so unfair to her. Given her hard work and commitment, she felt she deserved the top spot but Alisha stole it from her and accused her of cheating or gaining advantage from the teachers. Alisha had brushed her aside with laughter and never took her seriously.

Then when they graduated and joined the police ****, Alisha excelled in police work and impressed everyone while Nazia worked hard but got overshadowed as usual. Much to Nazia's chagrin, Alisha was promoted before her and just kept going ahead from then onwards and was made Senior Detective in no time while Nazia was still Inspector. But then one fine day, she quit her job and disappeared. There were rumors that she had a run in with the bosses over corruption and how she was pressured to not investigate certain cases and let certain powerful people go off the hook. Alisha was disgusted and frustrated with the corruption and quit and disappeared from the public eye.

Most in the police department believe that Nazia's success in the police department only happened after Alisha quit and only then was Nazia's work noticed. She kept her bosses happy and did not tread where she wasn't meant to and only took the cases the bosses approved, thus keeping everyone happy but never really going after any major criminal gangs or busting any major **** networks which is why Nazia was so livid and jealous today as in her entire career, she had never busted a network this big.

"What? Are you sure? The Commissioner asked her in shock.

"Yes sir, I went over hours and hours of footage and found her." Nazia beamed. She was proud at how quickly she had figured out who Agent V was.

"This entire case was busted by a highly intelligent and sharp detective. To put together a document trail and evidence like this is the work of a professional. Agent V is not some amateur but an ex cop." Nazia finished.

"Well if what you're saying is true, then we're in serious trouble because Agent V was the best detective I've ever seen in my entire career."

"uhuh uhuh" Nazia cleared her throat, part in discomfort, part in jealousy and annoyance but also part in reminding her boss that she was sitting right across from him. I mean to have your boss sit right across from you and describe your rival as the best detective was not going to go down well with Nazia.

"Yes?" her boss asked, oblivious.

"I mean sir...I've worked with her, she was good but not that good, I'm already found out she's Agent V...it wasn't that hard."

"Well you're still gonna need evidence Detective Nazia. Alisha presented her case with full evidence."

"Yes sir, of course. I'm going to bring her in for questioning and I'm sure I can break her."

"Well go ahead but be careful, she was the sharpest, most intelligent mind I've ever seen, she plays games with you and you think you've caught her but actually she's caught you."

"Don't worry Sir, I've known Alisha for a long time...I know how to get her to talk...I am Senior Detective Nazia, not her."

And with that Nazia left her boss's room, quite pleased with herself and with the go ahead she just received.
