I keep my eyes down and avoid making eye contact with anyone in an attempt to keep myself calm, as I let Tom lead me through the crowd, still looking for God knows who. Out of reflex, I put my arm around him, a little higher than where his arm is on me. I feel him squeeze my side for a moment, before loosening his grip again.

My gaze raises for a moment, checking to see if Tom’s found whoever it is he’s looking for. At first, no one sticks out, before a familiar, smiling face catches my attention. Before I even have a chance to get truly nervous, I feel Tom tugging me over towards the taller man. My fingers dig into his side in an attempt to keep my anxiety down. Regardless of my feelings, I don’t resist, knowing that it could only make things worse for me. It was a bad enough move when there wasn’t a massive crowd of people who would take issue with me running.

“Hey, Henry.”

“Hi, Tom.” A knowing tone weaves through both of their voices and I feel the taller’s eyes burning through me. “Who is this?” I try to ignore making eye contact with the man, as my heart pounds in my chest. Tom puts his hand on the back of my neck, digging his fingers into the sides of it, almost painfully so.

"Oh, him?” Tom looks over at me for a moment, before turning back to Henry. “This is Jaden. He’s my new fuck toy.” The conviction in voice sends a shiver down my spine and twists my stomach into knots.

“Huh. Have you broken this one, yet?” This one?

“Not quite yet, not that it matters.” Tom slides his hand down my neck and to my shoulder, pressing his thumb into the back of my neck. “I’m probably gonna keep him, anyway, so I’ve got time.” I clench my jaw, trying to keep myself quiet.

“Is he alright,” Henry asks, pointing to me. I clench my fist, trying to keep my expression as neutral as possible. I already have one enemy in this room, I can’t afford to make any more.

“Yeah, he’s just a little anxious. Isn’t that right,” Tom asks, looking over at me. My stomach tightens and I feel a response already trying to **** its way out of my mouth.
