Unusual Behavior

Strange things are happening and people are acting strangely. That is where you should focus your attention.

“Anything else come to mind?” you ask Duni as you rub her feet.

Duni laughs. “I just solved your mystery.”

“Did you?”

“I think it really is a party. What’s missing? What were we supposed to get tonight, Cynthia?”

“A new officer,” you reply automatically. Everyone knew that someone was getting initiated.

“Exactly. So there was a beer order. Where’s the beer? And where’s the party?” Duni shrugs at you. “Find that beer, and you’ll find the party.”

It’s a good point. You pat the side of Duni’s foot. “Thank you.”

“Course,” she replies. “I’m awake now. Want to hang out?” She pats the bed beside her.

You smile. “Some other time.”

“I don’t normally creep on pledges, but you acting this cool makes me want to,” Duni says with a smile.

Well, it’s not as though you hate having fun. You stand up but hesitate. “Let me see how long this takes me,” you say.

“Be quick. I’ll go back to sleep,” Duni threatens.

You give her a little wave and leave her room. Beer. Amy’s behavior. Missing people. You fold your arms and tap a finger against your chin. You are used to applying your brain to school, not to mysteries. This should not be this difficult.

You can verify one thing easily, so you go to the window and look down. It’s dark and hard to see, but Shelby’s beer truck is down there. So she brought the beer, but you haven’t seen her all night.

And where is the search party? Amy and the others? Maybe they know something that the rest of you don’t. They must. Secret meetings between Amy and Olivia? Not for sex? No, not for sex. Amy and Olivia are very different. Amy… you aren’t sure what Amy’s into, but Olivia cares about likes on Instagram, and to a lesser extent, having her ass played with. That probably makes her fun in bed, but she and Amy aren’t a match that way.

They must be planning something. That might explain Amy’s reaction to your plan to go searching. Hmm.

Well, if you get caught, Amy will understand.

You make your way to Amy’s room, pausing and getting out of sight on the way as you hear someone coming. When she’s gone, you head to Amy’s room, but find the door locked.

Nice try, Amy. You go back to Duni’s room, where she’s in the act of changing out of her plain underwear into some sexy ones. Lacy blue, matching set.

“Very nice,” you say as you walk past.

She hops awkwardly and tugs her panties up, looking embarrassed. “You weren’t supposed to come back that soon,” she admonishes you.

“I’m not back. Pardon me.” You crawl onto her bed and to her window, unlatching it and lifting it. The storm is loud.

You look over your shoulder at her, holding her lovely blue bra, naked except for the lacy, blue panties. Maybe it’s because you’re having so much fun pretending to be a detective, but you like what you see.

“Don’t go anywhere, gorgeous,” you say, blowing her a kiss.

Duni laughs and covers her boobs. “I thought you were a nerd,” she says.

“Appearances can be deceiving,” you say, climbing out into the rain. You hurry along the slippery roof to Amy’s bathroom window and open it, clambering in. You appropriate one of Amy’s towels to dry off mostly so you don’t drip everywhere and give yourself away.

Time to find out what Amy’s up to. This whole situation has been planned, and Olivia is in on it. There are too many clues suggesting that for it to be untrue. You just need the details, and Amy’s going to give them to you.

Amy is an excellent leader. She’s responsible and organized. She prepares for things. She probably prepared in this room. You just need to put it together.

Her laptop is on her desk. But there’s also the room.

Time to search, but you don’t have unlimited time.
