"You and Chantal are almost inseparable. Even when changing clothes, it doesn't take long for you to pick out your outfits and dress quickly. Chantal had already acquired some clothes earlier from Kaya, who had gone back to her house to borrow them.
You're reminded that the person inside Chantal's body is none other than Bianca, due to her makeup. You know that Chantal is sometimes not proficient at makeup, but she is naturally beautiful, which aligns with her personality. However, with Bianca in Chantal's form, she can clearly accentuate both her looks and physique. You can't help but glance at her as she puts on her eye makeup in the mirror, turns around, and admires her own body. Before she dons clothes in her style, she turns to look at you, spins around the room, and a faint smile appears on her lips.
"Darling, how do you think my makeup looks?" she asks you. You look at her in admiration, unable to find the words to convey her beauty. You smile, thinking that this might be one of the best choices you've made.
“You are so beautiful, Chantal, even more so than the person I used to know.” You approach her, look at her pretty face, and see her beautiful, sharp eyes looking back at you. You lightly touch her shoulder, but she takes your hand and guides it to touch her cheek. As you lightly rub her cheek with your thumb, a warm and contented smile appears on her face.
"I'm glad you like me this way," she softly says. You nod in understanding.
"So, it's time for us to go downstairs and head to school, Lasse," she winks at you before leading you out of your room.
"Oh, you're finally awake," Natsumi's voice from the kitchen surprises you, as she's still in your house.
"I thought you left after last night. Why are you still here?” You ask her, and hear her reply loudly.
“Oh, I had to repurpose something ten times older than you. It's taking a long time, and making sure it doesn't explode is challenging. You can imagine it as a bomb that could turn you and everyone else into living suits for the house," she grumbles loudly. As you walk into the kitchen, you're surprised to see her naked and using a soup spoon to scoop up food.
"Why aren't you wearing any clothes?" you ask her. She turns around and looks at herself, her small, B-sized breasts facing you.
"Oh... I'm a bit distracted... but honestly, I am still wearing 'clothes'..." She defends herself while Chantal laughs next to you. You shake your head lightly.
"No, Natsumi, your skin doesn't count as 'clothes'. You need to wear actual clothes, like... umm, humans do. Do you understand?" You explain, before Chantal lightly nudges you with her elbow.
"Hey, don't you remember I did the same thing at my house, and even video-called you to watch, remember?" Chantal reminds you. You do remember when she called you while she was at her house.
"Yes, you did, but that's you and it was at your house, not here with Natsumi.." you try to explain. But Chantal just shrugs and shakes her head.
"Come on, darling. Besides, she made breakfast for us. Let's overlook this minor issue." She lightly pats you on the shoulder with a playful smile before walking to the pot in the kitchen next to Natsumi to talk about the food. You scratch your head and realize you might have to adjust significantly to your new life.
The food that Natsumi prepares is delicious. It's so good that you can't believe it's made from the contents of your fridge. You look at her as you eat, and she notices your expression after each bite. Before you can say anything, she proudly pushes her chest out in response to your astonishment.
"I haven't said anything yet..." you tell her as she starts to giggle.
"Even if you don't say anything, your face gives away your thoughts. I used to be a chef at a restaurant, so even though I've handed over the reins to my students, my skills are still top-notch," she chuckles as she speaks.
"Sometimes I really wonder about your past..." you murmur to yourself as you continue eating.
“Our lives are full of surprises. Some people choose to live so recklessly that they ignore the instructions of our Mother. I've ignored those instructions because I believe that if I followed them for too long, I would lose my identity. But still, having the ability to live for so long and possessing every memory can be overwhelming.
All I do is erase some of my own memories to sustain my existence, even if it's hard to maintain that over millions of years." Though her voice remains casual, you can sense a hint of melancholy in her words. So, you decide to change the conversation. "So, what are you planning to do now? Because Paul told me that you would be helping me. You took a glass of water and placed it lightly on the table, waiting for Natsumi's answer.
"It's not complicated. I could sneak into your school, disguised as a student, or even brainwash a homeroom teacher by conjuring skin suits and stuffing them with false memories of me. Or I could do something as simple as posing as an 'exchange student from somewhere,' trust me, I can if I want to help you. There are more than 108 ways to handle this equation, except for one thing,” you explain, looking at her. She pointed upward.
"That's Ilorsef," she says. You raise your eyebrows questioningly.
"Why?" you ask her.
"I can't get close to him. Umm... To explain... Ah yes, when I was a soldier in Vietnam, I used to tell the FNGs... ahem sorry....I said, 'If you see the enemy in the firing range, the enemy can see you at that distance.' Like that, like some natural mechanics, we can't hide from our ally. If I know who Ilorsef is, Ilorsef will immediately know who I am if I'm nearby," she hoarsely explains, pausing to take a sip of water from the glass on the table.
"Wait, then he can find me if I'm a half-breed..?" You ask her nervously. But she shakes her head lightly and places a glass of water on the table.
"No, no, not at all. He can't find you because you're not 100% like us, like a hobbit that dives into a dragon's lair. A dragon that smells you doesn't even know what you are. I can assure you that you are more human than we are, to the point of envy,” she says, giving you a thumbs up. However, that doesn't make you feel any better.
“So how are you going to help me identify Ilorsef?” you ask her, anxiously pushing a spoon around on your plate.
"Simply put, he'll approach you, invite you somewhere, and find any excuse you might trust by relying on the disguise he's wearing to collect samples from you. Saliva?...NNNo, I believe he's got your saliva checked, even your urine or anything else you left at school. Me? There is no way to verify compatibility. It's not clearly stated, and there's another deviation from the method of collecting… hmmm, blood? It's possible, you got a small wound from something and went to the hospital to heal the wound and he and his dummy secretly collect your bandages to check...Nope....too contaminated, takes time to check. It's not his style...." You listen to her mutter, her voice fading so slowly that you can barely hear her before she suddenly exclaims,
"Ah! Yes! One way possible: he tricked you into having sex. That's the only way he can collect as many samples as possible and the best, blood, saliva, semen, even strands of hair without your knowledge. Heard rumors that he's a sexist too.... Hmmm." She ponders thoughtfully. As for you, you swallow your saliva with serious concern.
"You... you're saying that he'll approach me, **** me to get my samples to be examined, and then kidnap me? That's the only way to identify me?" You're shocked by the implications of her words. But she just shrugs.
"It's a yes and no, first point..." she starts, picking up a jug of water, filling her glass, and handing it to you. You grab the glass as she pours the water, and you immediately drink.
“Firstly, if he approaches you, he'll have to be someone close to you so you won't be surprised. Your parents can be ruled out. They were happily distracted by the fun tour Paul arranged for. So that leaves your ex-girlfriend...." She glances at Chantal, who returns her gaze for a moment, as if asking a question before Natsumi lightly shakes her head.
"Your ex is definitely not involved. Rule out the people who were with you last night, they won't be suspected. Now, that leaves the regular people around you. Anyone come to mind?” She rests her hands on her chin, leans on the table, and looks towards you.
"Uh... Tim, he's my best friend and... just a moment. Let me think about it." You try to come up with names of your friends.
"Er...Annalena, Tim's crush and our classmate too... we are not that close. I've never been alone with her. And....Celine? After breaking up with Chantal, I was secretly interested in her. But she is in the same class as Jacinta. We haven't really talked yet.” As you speak, Chantal places her hand on your waist and gently pulls you onto your shoulder, offering a **** smile.
“That woman doesn't need to be involved, honey, because I'm back. Only with you," she says in a seductive tone. You smile back and lightly kiss her hand.
"Yes, you're right," you say, before being interrupted by Natsumi, who snaps her fingers to bring you back to the conversation.
"Hey, focus! We haven't finished talking yet. You two start to get sweet when we're discussing serious matters. And you, Chantal, please hold back that charm. I don't want to feel sick from all the sweetness.” You look at her before putting Chantal's hand down with a shy chuckle.
"Sorry, I'm not used to it yet. Ok... Aside from the people who are not close. Hmmm.....Ah yes, Laura, she's another good friend of mine. We can talk about anything. Not to mention her best friend, Juliette. Honestly, I just found out that she has a crush on Laura, and because I'm so close to her, she's displeased with me," you tell her, to which she listens and thinks.
“And is there anyone else?” she asks you earnestly, but you shake your head.
“No, I have a few close friends. Most of the rest are not people who like my face much. The ones who are bad like Milla are worse than Jacinta. Puff!"
You burst out laughing loudly, slapping the table at the sound of your own laughter. You wipe away the tears and laugh again amidst the confusion of the two of them who don't understand what's going on.
"Hahahaha, excuse me, sorry...sniff.. I had an incident.... but no matter how many times I think about it, it's funny about Jacinta. Well, she's very narcissistic and doesn't care about anything but herself. But I have to admit, she is pretty and well-shaped, the only downside is her personality haha.” You continue to laugh when you think of the incident in the second-floor bathroom with the dummy. You try to look for her but she doesn't seem to be in your house. Maybe she returned to her place. Even though Natsumi and Chantal don't understand what you went through from what you saw, the two exchange looks and shrug at each other. But still, Natsumi sighs.
She places your remote on the table and slides it towards you.
"I don't know what kind of girl you're talking about, but it does sound interesting. Let it be, you can use this. I've modified it.” You pick up the remote she pushes towards you and examine it. It doesn't look any different from the original, aside from being more lightweight. Its button is now a glowing crystal marked with the original symbol.
“I've made it easier to use and capable of copying memories without side effects. You can replicate someone else's personality without the fear of losing your own identity. I was quite surprised that you were comfortable using it the first time after hearing about it from your girlfriend's substitute. But from now on, it won't be like that. I've softened the waves. However, don't press it for too long. That would release the safety protocol and revert to the same overwriting effect as before the modification. A light touch is enough,” she explains, while you inspect the brown button that emits a faint glow. A question pops into your mind.
“Then why didn't you remove these systems? Why not set it to a light touch?” You ask her. She pauses to think before answering.
"Consider it a stun gun, Lasse. This device was originally designed to eliminate us in emergencies. What I'm doing is adapting it for people to use with maximum benefit and minimal impact. But if one day you have to face Ilorsef or someone similar, you might need to use this device as a weapon.” Her tone is calm and caring. You examine the remote in your hand again, gripping it tightly before sliding it into your pocket and nodding.
"Understood, I'll be careful," you tell her, grinning mischievously, before clapping your hands together.
"PAP Ok! Then there's nothing to worry about. Observations will assist you, I believe there's a way to manage it. I've figured out what to do.” She glances at her hand before continuing, “Oh, I almost forgot. While you were sleeping, those girls already gave me your contact number and I've stored my chat and contact number in your cell phone. Feel free to contact me anytime. No toll charges!” She smiles and giggles like a child, then stands to collect the empty plates from the table.
"Let's move together then. I think your friends are waiting. I'll follow after tidying up here." She glances around before offering to help you. However, she shakes her head and tells you to go ahead. You're unsure how she plans to assist you, but after watching her walk towards the kitchen, Laura takes your arm and hands you your bag. Suspiciously, you follow Khun Luo into the kitchen. But in the end, you're led by your girlfriend's forceful arm, exiting the house and heading to the bus stop.
"Your nephew, he's just like you, Matthias," Natsumi murmurs to herself as she washes the dishes in the sink with her slender hands.
"sigh...I should have come to your aid sooner... Why didn't you tell me…” she whispers to herself, standing still in front of the sink. Her voice trembles with sadness.
"Calm down...sniff myself, calm down, he'll be fine. We will protect him and his family. I can assure you... I swear," she mutters, using a sponge-filled hand to wipe away her tears.
"No matter how many years pass, sniff I'm still not used to this feeling.sniff And probably never will be, right, Matthias?” She gazes out the window, as if looking far into the distance, towards the sun, following the passing rain clouds.
