Chapter 38 by Marcus Cooper
What's the next step?
Kyoko might be cold most of the time, but her time with Makoto had her showing more emotion than normal. The pair had quite literally severed all ties with the previous timeline, but Kyoko remembered one score that still needed settling.
New Rule: Junko Enoshima is subservient to both owners of the Rulebook. She is fully aware of her normal personality, but is incapable of defying her masters in word, intent or deed.
As soon as she finished writing, the rule disappeared in a cloud of smoke. Suddenly, an angry Makoto was standing next to Kyoko in her room. 'Ah, right. We can still teleport.' "Before you say anything, I can--"
"NO! Why would you do that?!" She had never seen Makoto this angry before in either timeline. She thought to herself, 'this would probably be hot if it wasn't directed at me.' Despite his initial outburst, it seems he did want her to explain.
"Well, to be honest, I'm still mad at her for trying to steal you from me. I didn't know what else to do." His face softened after hearing an explanation, even if he didn't exactly agree.
"Look, I know you're territorial, but this Junko's done nothing to you. She could be really nice." Kyoko highly doubted that, but how much of that thought was residual anger? She handed her lover the book, not trusting herself to keep her anger in check.
"Write whatever you want." Kyoko kisses Makoto on the cheek. "I believe in you."
What does Makoto write?
