The bus arrives

Alexa had gotten to the bus stop right on time as the big yellow bus pulled up. She climbed on board as others looked at her. Her face turned red from the awkwardness of walking through the bus as she joined her best friend who was sitting in the back. “Hey, Milly,” Alexa said.

“Hey, Lexi,” Michelle said as she scooted over.

“You ready for the test?” Alexa said. “Mrs Beach said it was going to be a big part of our grade.”

“Don’t remind me,” Michelle groaned. “I just want to be able to relax and not worry about stupid math tests.”

“Sorry, Mils, but it comes with the territory of school,” Alexa said. “You don’t like math tests, and I don’t like gym.”

“Speaking of Coach Tess is making all of us shower after class, including you. There was a complaint that people weren’t showering and causing a stink. So now she’s making us shower. Naked.”

“What?! That’s not real,” Alexa cried. “There’s no way I’m showering naked in front of all those girls.”

“I mean, you would be protected by a curtain,” Michelle said.

“I mean I guess but… there’s no way I’m showering naked,” Alexa said.

“We’ll see,” Michelle said. “You might have to.”

“I’ll just hope not,” Alexa said as the bus pulled up to the school. “Let’s get this over with.”

Alexa stood up and began walking to get off the bus.
