Movie Madness

Considering it had taken from the kitchen in my house all the way until we got to the mall to finally have Mai spill the beans over her insecurities it was easy for me to be surprised at the realization of my location. However, I easily shrugged that off and walked over to Ty Lee, Mai still holding my hand, while the excitable girl nearly bounced on her feet and pointed to one of the many television screens hanging from the ceiling. Playing on the television was a commercial for a recent movie that had come out, a somewhat bland and typical recent release that had come out not too long ago. Ty Lee on the other hand was watching with earnest, her smile spreading wide as she enthusiastically asked, "What is THAT?"

Holding back the temptation to pinch the bridge of my nose and chuckle at the same time I started my explanation, "That's a movie...well, actually it's a preview for a movie. A movie is like a television show that has no commercials, is a lot longer, and is about twenty times bigger than the tv back at the house." With this information Ty Lee turned to my with shimmering eyes, her grin beaming at the thought, "Can we go see one? Please!" Turning to Mai to gauge her reaction I found her too looking up at me, a rare spark of desire in her eye that made me realize that she too had never been to a movie theater.

With a sigh I shrugged with a nod, "Alright...I suppose we can go, but you better make this clothes shopping cheap and quick." Ty Lee giggled happily and jumped for joy, her mouth opening with a hearty cheer, "Thanks John!" In seconds Ty Lee had jumped on me, her arms latching around my body and pulling me into a tight and happy hug. With a smirk I decided to hug Ty Lee back, my arms going around her and accepting the energetic girls embrace. Ty Lee quickly jumped back from me with a grin, reaching around my body and grabbing onto Mai's wrist, "C'mon Mai! You gotta help me with this stuff so we can get out of here and watch that movie!" Mai let out and exasperated sigh, "Alright..." Turning to me with what little time she had left before Ty Lee quickly dragged her off Mai leaned up and kissed me on the mouth...rather hard too for someone with her usually quiet demeanor. Pulling away Mai smirked slightly, the corners up her lips turning up as she spoke, "Don't go anywhere now..."
