Three Years Later and to Borrow for a Second Time

For three years, Sean and Chloe decided to focus on themselves and their careers. Three years may not seem all that much but it was still plenty enough time for a lot of things to happen and change.

Sean's diligence, perseverance and hardwork had gotten him promoted. The executives at work had been impressed by his work ethic and competence that they had assigned him to be the department head of a new branch they were opening. It would a new work place with a new work environment and new people to work with. The pay was also better and higher. Sean almost said yes instantly. It would mean getting away from his assholes co-workers like Garry.

Sean would have the last laugh in the end as during his farewell party. Sean made a speech wherein he insulted each and every last one of the jerks who disrespected him. Not only that, Sean had built a rapport with the execs and hinted to them the rude and unprofessional behavior of his co-workers. Needless to say, a lot of reprimands were given the day after Sean left.

Chloe for her part had gotten the job she wanted. She would have no lovers other than Sean. Her job was her boy toy. She started small but eventually, her own excellent work ethnic and wit had gotten her a managerial job. It was hardwork but it pay off. Chloe had also made friends with her co-workers and she was well respected by them.

Money was no longer an issue for them. But they chose to stay in their apartment. They saw no reason to move. Well at least not yet. Chloe was still as beautiful and as fit as ever. The one thing that did change about her was her hair. Three years ago it had only reached her mid-back. Now it had grown long enough to reach her mid-thighs.

But most notably, she and Sean weren't getting any younger. Her bio-clock was ticking and her maternal instincts were kicking in.

So she broached the topic of having children with Sean. Sean agreed to it with a happy smile. He too had wanted kids. Now that he was 30 and she was 28, they might as well start now. It was time for them to start a family. Chloe had stopped taking her birth control. Now it was just a waiting game of when the effects of her BC would wear off completely.

The day had started just like any other day. Within the privacy of their own home, Sean and Chloe didn't wear any clothes. At best, they'd have bathrobes on. But this day would be different. They had a guest. The doorbell rang. The couple quickly dawned their bathrobes and Sean answered the door. There stood Magnus. Magnus stretched out his arms and enveloped Sean into a hug.

"Hey Sean," Magnus said with a sigh after they ended the hug.

"Magnus, hey man. What brings you here?" Sean said both surprised and happy to see his friend.

"Magnus!" dashed in Chloe who was excited to see him. Feeling playful, she greeted Magnus with a kiss square on the lips. She knew Magnus was still single and knew both Sean and Magnus would like it. The two embraced dearly after the kiss.

"Hey Chloe, it's good to see you guys again." Magnus said a little somberly. "Can I come in?"

Sean said, "Of course." Chloe winked at her husband and led Magnus by the hand to living area. Sean and Chloe sat on the couch while Magnus sat on a chair across them.

"So what brings you here, Magnus?" Sean asked and observed, "You seem a little down."

"Yeah, I am." Magnus sighed, "A lot of things have happened in the last couple of months. It's been a little trying. I wish I could meet you guys under better circumstances but I'm here now and again because I need your help."

Chloe laughed, "Let me guess. You want me to pretend to be your girlfriend again." Neither she nor he would mind if that is what their friend asked. It's happened before so why not do it again. It was fun for all three anyway.

"Hey I don't mind if that's what you want, buddy." Sean said with a smile. "If she's fine with IT, then so I am."

Magnus's lips formed a smile too, "I'm lucky to have you guys. I really am. But no. I'm not here to ask Chloe to be my pretend girlfriend. If only that were still the case. No. What I am asking of you two is big. Very, very, big. I'll understand if you both say no to it. There's no harm in me at least asking."

Both Sean and Chloe gave Magnus an inquisitive look as they waited for him to tell them what he wanted. They even held their breath in anticipated of their friend's new request.

And Magnus told them with a serious face, "I'm here to ask Chloe to legally marry me and be my wife."
