It was one of the longest naps I have ever taken, when I woke up it is already noon the next day. I am surprised that Pegs kept waiting for me, he could have sneaked away with his rock or even killed me in my sleep, but it seems he must have grown fond of me. I picked up the stone and studied it a bit further. It's overall quite dark in colour, but have a particular shine to it, almost like some sort of volcanic glass-like obsidian. Reddish grooves cover the exterior of the stone, it resembles the head of a deer or goat with curly horns protruding from the top. The stone is slightly warm to the touch, I wonder if it's because of the body temperature of Pegs or if the stone is generating some heat. Otherwise, the stone is completely "normal", I tried to activate it using my mana but it seems to be just a piece of rock. Although Pegs did mention spilling blood on it had some effect I don't dare try doing it, at least not my own blood, way too risky to try something like this on an unknown piece of rock with potential demonic origin.

Deciding to investigate it further at a future time I pack it in my waist pouch and moved on with my day.
