Chapter 66 by Blues32

What does Mai think about this?

Slightly overwhelmed.

It was an expression that I could possibly NEVER see on her face again. Mai's jaw was hanging open, her eyes wide, darting from gigantic ride to gigantic ride. "What in...?" she whispered. She sounded like she was in a true state of awe. I suppose that made sense. The other things I showed her were small. Possibly more complicated then the rides before us.

Of course, in terms of sheer mass, this place trumped anything I could possibly be the owner of. "It's an amusement park. You seemed so into that **** sports thing, I figured you'd be interested in a safer, but still enjoyable, adrelinine rush," I explained.

Mai simply nodded in response, letting me take her hand as I led her inside, getting the necessary pass and tickets. "Hmm...now where to begin?" I mused allowed to her. That was supposed to be a prompt for her to offer a suggestion. It didn't come.

"You okay, Mai?" I asked, a little concerned. Hope I didn't give her sensory overload or something. "I'm fine, I just...I don't know where to begin..." she whispered, her words barely heard over the distant screams of the roller coaster riders.

"Alright...let's simplify it. Do you want to ride something intense right away, or start small? An example of 'intense', of course, is that massive ride above us," I explained. Mai looked up at it again, still amazed. Maintaining a facade of disinterest was impossible at this point. "Or...we could start small, like with...the ferris wheel. I think you might find the carosel a bit...degrading." I honestly couldn't see her riding on a fake horse, going around in circles.

Start small or aim high?
