Chapter 15 by Wolf_Knight
What happens with the call? Does Kelly answer or something else?
The phone rings....
The phone rings a few times before the stores answering machine picks it up, so Andrea ends the call. Flipping the business card over in her hand to look at Kelly's personal number, Andrea punches it in without hitting send. Andrea wasn't sure about making the call. She had barely been a woman for a few weeks and her former self had never been one to rush into a relationship or one-night stands. Taking a breath before pushing the send button, Andrea placed the call to Kelly's personal number.
"Hello," came Kelly's voice over the line.
"Hello, is this Kelly?" Andrea asked timidly.
"Yeah, this is Kelly. Who's calling?"
"Kelly, it's Andrea. We met in your boutique the other day and you gave me your card," Andrea replied.
"Andrea, I'm glad you called. Did you want to meet for drinks," she asked before switching to a sultry tone, "or were you just calling for some fun?"
Andrea let out a nervous laugh, "Let's try drinks before anything else is decided."
Andrea could hear Kelly's smile through the phone, "Certainly, how well do you know your way around town?"
"Not really well, but I'm in the commercial district not far from your shop. I can wait for you there and follow you to where you want to go is that works?" Andrea said.
"That's perfect. It will take me about twenty-minutes to get there. See you shortly Andrea," Kelly said as she ended the call. Andrea placed her phone back into her purse, hopped into the car and headed for Kelly's Shop to wait for her.
Andrea pulled up in front of Kelly's shop about five minutes later to wait. She felt as nervous sitting there like it was the first time she was meeting someone for drinks. In a way it was, Andrew had done it a number of times, but this was a first for Andrea. She fidgeted with her phone, checked her mare-up in the mirror every couple of minutes, just doing whatever she could to bleed off the nervous energy. Finally, a new looking black Jeep pulled in beside her. Kelly rolled her window down and gave a quick set of directions to get them started so Andrea could follow her. The town wasn't small, but it wasn't a large city either. It was a good-sized resort area that catered to hikers and campers most of the year and multiple ski resorts on the mountains during the cold seasons. That being said, Andrea would never have found her way to the nondescript building that Kelly led her to. It was a mid-sized brick building with no visible windows on the facing side, and by the door was a small sign that said Callahan's Saloon. Andrea pulled up right next to Kelly's Jeep. She swapped her flats for the heels and headed for the door with Kelly. They entered the building into a small room with a woman built like Ronda Rousey, only not a pretty, sitting by the second set of doors. The woman greeted Kelly by name before carding Andrea and waving them through. The main area wasn't what Andrea was expecting from the outside appearance of the building or the name of the place. On the left wall when you walked in there was indeed the classic saloon bar with the mirrored back wall, the bottles lined up in rows. At the end of the bar on the from wall was a full wine rack. In the front right corner of the room was a small stage for live music. There we booths along the right wall with tables interspersed around the main room. The back wall is where this place departed from the traditional bar or saloon, The entire back wall was glass with doors to let you outside. The outside area was half covered with a canvas awning and surrounded by ten-foot-high privacy fence. It was a garden and picnic area with a few small tables. Under the awning were a few scatted couching and sitting areas. Music was playing over speakers to the outside area as Kelly led Andrea to one of the cozy sitting areas.
As they arrived at the sitting area Kelly removed the long coat that she was wearing revealing her long shapely legs encased in sheer black pattern stockings falling just short of the hem on a modern little black dress. The dress was sleeveless with the left shoulder completely cut away, the material hugged her bust and body to the waist. From the waist her skirt flared out loose falling just below mid-thigh. When she moved you would see a flash of her smooth skin between the tops of her stocking and the hem of the dress. Andrea would describe her as dressed to kill and was feeling a little underdressed in her sundress. Andrea's jaw dropped and words escaped her when she tried to speak.
Kelly's smile spread wider as she watched Andrea's stunned expression, "I'm glad you like it, I wanted to look my best however this evening goes," she said.
Andrea regained her senses and replied, "Than I'd say you more than succeeded. You look amazing Kelly."
"Thank you," she replied.
They sat and ordered drinks, listening to the music and making small talk. Kelly asked about the group of women Andrea had come into the shop with. Andrea explained that other than her half-sister they were female staff from the medical research clinic outside of town which led Kelly to ask, "So, what do you do at the research facility?"
"Patient," Andrea replied.
"Ah, are you alright?" Kelly asked.
"Yes, I'll be leaving in two weeks," Andrea said. "The trip out when we stopped in your store was a bit of physical and retail therapy as well as allowing me to purchase a wardrobe for myself once I awakened in the facility."
"Awakened?" She asked before continuing right om, "Were you in a coma? What happened?" Kelly asked quickly, "Wait, you don't need to answer those questions and I apologize for prying into your personal business."
"It's alright Kelly. I'll answer what I can as the research project used is still a classified and experimental procedure." Andrea took a few deep calming breaths as she prepared to explain, "Yes, I had a severe illness that was likely to kill me had the researchers not been successful. I spent about two months in a coma after being hospitalized and rapidly worsening. Now, I'm starting out with a new lease on life and learning how to be more social since my social life almost didn't exist prior."
"I'm happy that you are recovering and that I got the chance to meet you," Kelly said.
"I won't say that the illness was something I'd have wished on anyone. However, the perk of getting to be in this area and meet a few interesting people are a positive note that I would have missed without knowing why if it hadn't happened," Andrea replied.
They continued chatting for a bit longer with Andrea asking about Kelly as more people filtered into the bar. Andrea avoiding talking about her past as that was going to be a long story for someone who he was getting into a relationship with. Kelly got up and walked to the bar to get more drinks while Andrea followed her movements from her seat, enjoying the view. As she watched Kelly, Andrea noticed the other people in the building. There were couples and groups of differing mixes though she could see bisexual groups and gay or lesbian couples. Andrea was surprised in a good way as she didn't expect to find a club like this in a small town but being a resort town, she shouldn't have been. There were a few individuals, men and women both, that watched Kelly hungrily as she walked through the room. Kelly only had eyes for Andrea as she stared into hers as she walked back from the bar commanding the attention of the room. Andrea's heart was pounding in her chest even as she felt a heat in her core. Kelly was a mesmerizing sight to behold when she was in her element like this.
They sat a little longer sipping at their drinks when Kelly said, "Andrea, would you like to go back to my place and continue this evening?"
Andrea's eyes widened like saucers at the blunt invitation, she should have seen it coming after the initial invitation at the boutique.
How does Andrea answer the question? What's next for her?
