Epilogue: Lois Lane Exposed

The labor lasted 28 hours. Angie was watching over the babies—Lily and Lyle—and Lois relaxed in her hospital bed, cushioned by the best legal **** that money could buy, hoping to sleep and let her body heal itself...

...when she became aware of smoke filling the room. A figure moved through the mist...in a trenchcoat and a fedora. They turned toward the former reporter...but there was no face beneath the fedora. No eyes, nose, or mouth. Just smooth flesh.

Lois recognized them from the files she'd read of various superheroes and vigilantes. The Question. Female. No superpowers. Batman had marked their secret identity as confidential. In a lesbian relationship with Batwoman.

"Lois Lane," the voice was distorted, scratchy. "Former ace reporter at the Daily Planet. Now...CEO of Preggr."

The reporter tried to straighten herself up and winced. Even if she wanted to flee, her body had just gone through a tremendous physical ordeal. Just trying to sit up made her abs ache, even through the ****.

"But that's not all you've been up to," the Question said. "Your...company...and its apps have been tracing user data for heroes and villains. Adjusting the ads they get. Maximizing support for pregnant mothers."

The gun came out so fast, Lois didn't even see it drawn. Just one moment and it was there, in her face. A dark tunnel obscuring her vision.

"So why are you working to get so many young heroines pregnant?" The Question said.

The reporter breathed out. She knew how interviews worked—and this was an interview. If she could just keep the Question talking, Blaze would return...and that would be it for this vigilante.

"I was investigating a case where several women had gone missing in Metropolis," Lois said. "What I found out was that they were all using an app...an app that encouraged pregnancy. Healthy pregnancies. When I traced the origins of the app back to the ones that developed it, I found out that the Preggr app was just the public face for a project designed to provide resources for superheroines who found themselves pregnant. Part of that involved targeting their online data to detect signs of pregnancy early...to direct them to resources. I accepted a position to further that initiative. As I was pregnant myself, I was conscious of how fortunate I was to have the care I needed during my pregnancy. I didn't want other women to not have what they needed for a pregnancy."

"How philanthropic," the Question said, the gun never wavering. "But you've done more than just collect data, haven't you? I've found evidence of your apps setting up...parties. Encounters. Limiting access to birth control. You're not just providing resources to superheroines that happen to get knocked up in the course of events. You are at the center of a conspiracy to impregnate these women. Why?"

Lois sucked in air. Her tits ached. She wanted to feel her babies hanging off her breasts. Wanted to feel her wife's lips on her own again. Sweat dripped down her ribs, but she did her best to keep her cool. As long as the Question was asking questions, she wouldn't shoot Lois. The former reporter was sure of it. She would bet her life on it.

"This is about Batwoman, isn't it?" Lois said.

The gun wavered. Just a moment, but Lois knew that the shot hit home.

"She's in our network. All of the Batfamily is. I've been on maternity leave for the last few weeks, but I'm going to guess the rabbit died? And you went looking to find out how your lesbian girlfriend got knocked up. Or is that ex-girlfriend?"

"I wouldn't hit a pregnant woman," the Question said. "But I have no qualms whatsoever about hitting new mothers. How did you do it? How did you get to her?"

Lois Lane's mouth was a firm line. She was playing with fire here, and she knew it.

"Not every superheroine is at a place in their life where they can actually carry a pregnancy. Not a traditional one, anyway. Yet some of them want children. We...decided to facilitate some of those requests. We didn't put Batwoman into a position where she was fucked by some guy. We sat her down with Batwoman and Zatanna and they asked her to be a surrogate for them. All we did was provide the discreet medical services to accomplish the implantation, and continue to provide medical care for the course of her pregnancy."

The gun was shaking. Lois gripped the handrails of the medical bed, and hoped that the revelation hadn't pushed the Question too far...but the gun lowered. Pointed between the reporter's legs.

"You didn't answer my question. About the Titans. The teen sex parties. You've been...prostituting...these young women. Even Wonder Woman."

Lois stared at where the Question's eyes should have been.

"Nobody was **** to do anything. Nobody was paid to do anything. We just put horny people together. They decided to fuck...they decided not to use protection...and we came in afterwards to help them. If they wanted to abort, we would respect that. If there was a medical need for an abortion, we would help with that. They're pregnant because they want to be."

There was a wet, crimson stain oozing through the blanket between Lois Lane's legs, and the former reporter realized she must have popped a few stitches.

"Why?" The Question asked. "Just tell me...why are you doing all this? Why do you want so many superwomen pregnant?"

Lois saw a crimson flash out of the corner of her eye.

"Because the world still needs heroes."

There was a blur. A crimson hand closed on the wrist and holding the gun and bones snapped. Blaze's hand grabbed the Question by the throat and held her up.

"Don't kill her," Lois said. "Just...hold her. I need to make a call. We can talk with her."

"Eggh-eggh..." The Question said. "Ttttooo laaate...I'm...liiiive..."

Angelica Blaze turned, confused...and a pit opened up in Lois Lane's stomach. The Question's free hand ducked under her coat, and pulled out a smartphone and microphone.

"She's wired," Lois said. Her eyes widened. "She was broadcasting...everything."
