Absolutely Devious

“I don’t like him,” Desire said, the smoke from her cigarette hovering in the air around her.

“What’s to like?” Lust asked, “Mortals are all the same, little more than animals, begging for a brief moment of pleasure before they become food for the soil.”

“This one’s worse,” Desire said, placing her feet on the plain wooden dining table, flicking an ash on the floor, “He’s forgotten his place, taken what doesn’t belong to him. We need to make him pay.”

“Justice won’t allow it,” Lust, paced behind her sister, “and while I would love to take control of the situation, I don’t relish a conflict with her.”

“That’s what we need this one for,” Desire pointed her cigarette at the middle-aged woman standing by the sink, frozen in time, “There are more ways to make his life go awry than denying him what he wants.”

“I don’t understand,” Lust said.

“If we can’t take it, then we’ll give it,” Desire rasped, swinging her legs down and standing up from her chair. She crossed the the floor to stand before the woman. Older than Justice’s mortal, although they lived such a short time that it was hard to tell. Attractive, too. She could see the resemblance between them, something that would work perfectly in her plan.

“Absolutely devious!” Lust giggled, joining her twin, reaching out and playing with the woman’s breasts. Already Lust had begun to manipulate the flows around the woman, using what was already there, intensifying, redirecting. Desire joined her with her free hand.

“With her, we’ll give him everything he ever wanted,” Desire paused to take a drag, “whether he wants it or not.”
