You are most definitely alive

James came to on his back in the alley. He stared at whatever the hell it was.

"What the hell are you?" he asked.

"A seemingly simple question," her voice became monotonous once again, and her expression vacant. "I do hope you enjoy the gift I have given you, James. Don't squander it."

And with that, she turned and began walking out of the alley. James ran to catch up with her, but as she rounded the corner, she disappeared!

James searched frantically around the now pitch-black alleyway but to no avail. Eventually, he sighed and headed back home, the streetlighting illuminating his way. As he walked, he saw all manner of unusual sights. People fucking in cars, their voices audible through the glass of the windows, people fucking in windows or on balconies. He even passed by one house who seemed to be having a full on orgy in the living room with the curtains opens and the light blazing out. They might as well have had a spotlight on them.

It was at this point that James stopped for a moment.

“Wait, do I even want to go home?” He said out loud.

There was no way he wanted to walk in on his parents or his sister again. It would be too uncomfortable. Sure, he loved the idea of public sex but he didn’t want to do those things with his family.

“I wouldn’t be so sure of that,” came the whisper once more.

James whipped his head around but saw nobody there. He didn’t respond, instead choosing to make his way home. He decided he would go but he’d try and sneak in quietly so nobody would know he was back. Then, he’d put his earphones in and pretend nothing was happening.

James arrived at the bottom of his driveway. It was a slightly larger than average house with two stories, covered with ivy. Fortunately for him, this ivy was definitely climbable, a concept he had tested a multitude of times over the last several years. He approached the ivy closest to his bedroom, readying himself for his climb.
