Jenny Wakeman

(I'm kinda unsure about rewriting contracts that I've already written.))

The contract came bundled with semantics, notes, data dumps and other tetchy documents. But in it besides all the files, folders, vids, explanations, documentations, and lists was something far more mundane. It was a digital copy of course, but it was of a hand written letter rather than anything related to technology.

Dear Jenny,

I hope this letter finds you well when it comes to light. All these years I hope you are keeping up the fight, but only if you want to. I made you as a weapon but you grew to be a daughter. By now I hope you are making your own choices, fully free from your programing. You were always rebellious but I never expected you to reach this state you are now. I wonder, who learned more from the other; daughter or mother?

Still I wish to teach you more but..., time takes it's toll on everything. I fear what happens in a world without me, with no guide to help light your way my daughter. I know you have good friends who will stand by you through thick and thin, and already have several times. But I worry, in a way only a mother could of what awaits you.

And I will be frank, as a scientist, I question. Your love for me is material and true, that much is certain. Your love for your friends is platonic and strong, I have no doubts. But what of love? True love, soul matching love? You've had crushes plenty but how many of those were from your heart or your programing? Or just teenage hormones.... or the robotic mimicry of them.

I am sorry for this Jenny, but for one last test and to hopefully leave you with someone to care for you; I drew up this contract with Cupid's Wish. Their track record speaks for itself. You will have objections, of this I know, but I do this out of my love for you and desire to push you as far as you can go. To see how human you will become. Thus, I have enacted several key conditions for any prospective suitor of yours.

1. They must be kind and understanding, with a bright mind
2. They must have experience with mechanics, technology and other scientific matters
3. Addendum - Should 2 not be able to come to pass, they must be willing to learn and not be against the progress of science.
4. They must be willing to stand with whatever life Jenny wishes to pursue
5. They must be able and willing to help Jenny continue the line of XJ series into the future

If they meet these requirements, then they have blessing and consent. Jenny, I hope you can forgive me for this one last burden on you..., but I do this because I care. I know whatever you face, you will do so to the highest of your abilities.
