Lilly's boss arrives

“What do I do?” said Lilly. Then she heard her boss coming. “I wish I had remembered to shut the door.” Lilly ducked under her desk to hide, but not fast enough. Her boss, Mrs. Davis, came into her office. From her point of view, she could only see Lilly’s head and neck.

“What are you doing, Lilly?,” said Mrs. Davis.

“I, um, just dropped something under the desk.”

“Oh. I just wanted to remind you about the meeting in ten minutes.”

Lilly had forgotten about that too. “Yes. I’ll be there.” Mrs. Davis left and Lilly panicked. “Meeting?!,” she thought. “I can’t go to it like this.”
