A Weiss Problem

The morning sun shines down to greet Weiss and help her begin the day. Unfortunately, that would be easier said than done mostly due to a certain 'leader' of hers.

(Whistle!!!)

Ruby: Good Morning, Team RWBY!

Yeah, this wasn't going to be a good morning that's for sure.

Weiss: What in the world is wrong with you?!

Ruby: Now that you're awake we can finally get down to business!

Weiss: What business?

Ruby: Uh duh the thing we should have done the first day we came to Beacon!

It was at this moment Yang chose to chime in with a box in her hands and Blake holding a suitcase.

Yang: Decorating!

Weiss: What?!

Blake: Plus, I still have things to unpack.

(Whistle!!!)

Ruby: Alright Weiss, Blake, Yang, and their fearless leader Ruby have begun their first mission Banzai!

Blake & Yang: Banzai!

Weiss: *sigh*

Meanwhile, Dolan, Glynda, and Ozpin are having a nice casual stroll outside. If only the conversation was as casual as the mood.

Dolan: More dust robberies only this time an eyewitness claimed, they saw people wearing white masks flee from the scene.

Glynda: White Fang?

Dolan: Possibly or just some A-holes trying to incriminate the White Fang. Gods know that's the last thing the Faunus need right now. But even if it is them, they should have no reason for them to team up with Torchwick of all people, right?

Ozpin: Someone else may have been orchestrating these events. Pulling the strings of both the White Fang and Torchwick.

Dolan: Which now brings us to our next item of discussion, Ozpin! Could this refer to the same someone that you've known about but have yet to tell me about because of your reasons?

Ozpin: Dolan...

Dolan: Please Ozpin why don't you regale me with one of your longwinded speeches of why you can't seem to tell me who this someone is? Maybe you'd also like to tell me why you called me back to Vale while I was in the middle of helping Headmaster Theodore with the issue with the "CROWNS"? Did it perhaps have something to do with the person Qrow went to rendezvous with?

Dolan: Well, I'm waiting?

Ozpin: ...

Just then Dolan and company started to hear loud footsteps of people running. Turning around he saw the members of Team RWBY and Team JNPR in a made sprint. Glynda looks at her watch to check the time. The group only had a few minutes left before their class begins.

Ozpin: Ah yes that reminds me! Dolan, a package for Oobleck arrived could you go bring it to him?

Dolan merely turns back to Ozpin and scowls at him for trying to avoid the subject before shaking his head and without another. He takes one last look over his aunt and gives her a weak smile before heading off. Once Dolan is far enough away Glynda turns toward Ozpin.

Glynda: He needs to know Ozpin.

Ozpin: Indeed, though I worry how he'll react to the truth of what we are really up against.

Glynda: Just don't expect me to get in the way in the event he decides to punch you.

Ozpin: Hm... I'll keep that in mind.

Not long after delivering Oobleck's package, Dolan is outside relaxing on a bench taking in the scenery. He decides to use this opportunity to meditate and focus his aura to scan the area around him. It wasn't even that long before he sensed two auras, one was flaring with anger while the other seemed a tad bit sad in comparison. Seeing as this could be a problem, he decides to check it out since it was close by. As he was walking into the hall, he started to hear the conversation between them, and from the voices, it was no doubt the heiress and the pipsqueak.

Ruby: What did I do?!

Weiss: That's just it, you've done nothing to earn your position! Back in the forest, you acted like a child, and you've only continued to do so!

Ruby: Weiss where is this coming from? What happened to all the talk about working together? I thought you believed in acting as a team.

Weiss: Not a team led by you.

Weiss: I've studied and trained! And quite frankly I deserve better!

Weiss: Ozpin made a mistake.

And like that Weiss takes her leave rounding the corner without even noticing Dolan's presence.

Dolan: (Yep, I figured as much.)

He takes a look back at the pipsqueak to see that Ozpin has arrived and is talking to her. Meaning while he handles her that leaves Dolan to handle Weiss. Hopefully, it all turns out alright.

Dolan made his way back outside to see Weiss sitting on a bench deep in thought. Seeing this as a great opportunity to tease her Dolan slowly makes way to her before getting her attention.

Weiss: What do you want?!

She killed the mood.

Dolan: Clearly, not to serenade you with that's for damn sure!

Without even asking for her permission, he takes a seat next to Weiss.

Dolan: I overheard your little spat with the pipsqueak. I have to say I never would have thought you were so petty.

Weiss: Excuse Me!

Dolan: Bitch you heard me! Hell, if you wanted to get your way you should have stayed in Atlas so you could use your influence to get it!

Weiss: Don't mistake me for my father!

Dolan: Then stop acting like him just because you weren't appointed as team leader!

Weiss: But don't you at the very least believe Ozpin made a mistake making Ruby leader?

Dolan: Nope.

Weiss: What?

Dolan: He's the headmaster ergo he decides who he'll appoint as the leader!

Weiss: So, you're just going to blindly trust his decision even though you of all people know how much more exceptional I am?

Dolan: Weiss, you misunderstand my relationship with Ozpin. I trust him just as much I want to choke him. Which is to say just enough!

Dolan: Also, your skill in a fight is matched only by your people skills...which is shit.

Weiss: How dare you!

Dolan: See what I mean, you can't even accept the tiniest bit of constructive criticism!

Weiss: You call that constructive criticism?

Dolan: Yup.

Dolan: Anyway, Weiss I watched the recordings of when you and the pipsqueak entered the Emerald Forest as well as when you fought that Nevermore! Now correct me if I'm wrong but you weren't the one who came up with the idea to take it down were you?

Weiss: I...no I didn't, it was Ruby.

Dolan: From what I can tell you're a deep thinker, while the pipsqueak is a quick thinker. Neither is better nor worse than the other. However, the moment when the two of you started working together was the moment you were able to bring out your best!

Dolan: Perhaps the pipsqueak isn't the best leader...yet. Keep in mind you've only been here for about a couple of days so it's too early to start judging her, don't you think? But if you and the rest of your team spend more time together and actually talk to one another. Then perhaps she'll become a better leader and you'll become a better huntress as well as a better person in the long run.

Weiss: I guess...It wouldn't be fair to say she's not qualified when she's only been the leader for a short time.

She takes one look at the smiling bastard beside her before a smile starts to take shape on her face as well. He did have a point, at least in his own way. Weiss never really spent much time with people around her age and now that she had decided to follow in her sister's footsteps, and not allow her father to control her life she should try and make the best of what she currently has and work together with Ruby.

Dolan: Glad you understand!

Weiss: Now we can start the next topic!

Dolan: And that is?

Weiss: You and my sister! It's not fair that you get to see her more than me!

Dolan: I was hoping you weren't going to bring that up. (Fuck!)

Out of all the first years, the only person who knew Dolan was Weiss Schnee. This was mostly due in part to the relationship Dolan shared with Weiss's sister Winter. Both Dolan and Winter have known each other since they were very young and back when Weiss still lived in Atlas, whenever Winter seemed to have a day off from her work in the military, Dolan would always be there to see her. In all honesty, Weiss felt jealous that he was able to spend more time with Winter than she was able to. Weiss knew from Winter that Dolan lived in Vale however what she wasn't aware of was that he worked at Beacon or that he was Professor Goodwitch's Nephew. It certainly took her by surprise!

Dolan: Look, Weiss if you're still angry that I get to see your sister more than you just know that I've been speaking to her about when she'll be available, and she told me she might come to Vale around the time the Vytal Festival starts!

Hearing this Weiss immediately went wide-eyed hearing she could see her sister. She was practically glowing with happiness.

Weiss: Really!

Dolan: Yes, I've been speaking to her using the CCT terminal I have installed back at my house.

Weiss: Wait how do you have a CCT terminal in your house?

Dolan: Oh well since I work for Ozpin, I would of course need it in the event one of Ozpin's contacts outside the kingdom needed to reach him in case of emergencies!

Weiss: Oh, that makes sense!

Dolan: Course it does! (Good she bought it, to be honest, I ripped out one of the tower's terminals in the middle of the night when no one was around and called up one of my buddies to install it in my house using a different frequency so no one could trace it just so I could talk to Winter exclusively!)

Dolan: So, is there something else you need to get off your chest because if not you might want to hurry to your next class!

Weiss: Right well I wanted to say something else to you, but I suppose that's going to have to wait. Once classes are finished, I'll apologize to Ruby.

Dolan: Great in that case I need to get going as well. Later...

Dolan: ..."Weiss Cream"~

Weiss: I told you never to call me that again!

Weiss turns around to launch an attack against Dolan however with his speed he's already rounding the corner to the hallway before Weiss realizes what happened.

-Later that night-

Dolan is making his way downstairs to the CCT terminal in his basement to contact Winter. Upon activating it a hologram of a woman appears in front of him. Dolan decided to give the A.I. the name "Annie" to give her more of an identity.

Annie: Good evening Mr. Knight how are you doing?!

Dolan: Like a glass of fine wine! Thank you for asking Annie!

Annie: Shall I direct you to Miss Schnee's scroll?

Dolan: Yes, please! But from now on just call her Winter since her little sister is also here in Vale!

Annie: Understood sir!

While waiting Dolan looks at himself in the mirror to try and look more presentable before Winter answers.

Winter: Hello?

Dolan: Hey how's that shitty boss treating you? For his sake it better be exceptional!

Winter: Is that really the first thing you're going to say to me?

Dolan: Ok, ok let me try again! *ahem* Hi honey how's work treating you, hope your boss is treating you well else I'll knock his ass out, On Gods!

Dolan: Better?

Winter: With you, that's about the best I can hope for. Anyway, how are you?

Dolan: Surviving for the most part. Had a run-in with your sister today!

Winter: Is Weiss doing, ok? Is she eating properly, has she taken up any hobbies, is she making any friends?

Dolan: I can't say for certain about the first two but as for the third she's in the process of making some. Luckily her leader/partner seems to want to be her friend so there's that.

Winter: Really? And how would you characterize this leader of hers?

Dolan: Let's see...probably...oh I don't know underwhelming also a bit of a pipsqueak but other than that she's decent...ish in a fight.

Winter: And what of Weiss's other teammates?

Dolan: Well, one's a Faunus so they get a bit of diversity in the group, but she seems adamant about hiding it though. Oh, and the leader's older sister is on the team as well!

Winter: That's good to hear, is she responsible?

Dolan: ...

Winter: Dolan?

Dolan: Y-yeeeeeeaah she's perfectly responsible!

Winter: Your tone says otherwise.

Dolan: *ahem* Ah anyway, I wanted to get an update on our earlier conversation if you're coming to Vale for the Vytal Festival 'cause I kinda already told Weiss and she seemed super stoked so the last thing I need is her getting pissed at me for lying to her!

Winter: Actually, I just might!

Dolan: That's great!

Winter: Yes, you see recently I've been working with a new recruit that Ironwood assigned to me, they will be participating in the festival!

Dolan: This recruit must be pretty special for them to be under your care am I right?!

Winter: Indeed.

Dolan: Looks like I've got two things to look forward to!

Dolan: Well better get some sleep for tomorrow.

Dolan: Goodnight Princess~

Winter: Goodnight you Oaf~

And just like that, the call comes to an end with Dolan sporting a huge smile on his face.

Dolan: Hope to see you soon.
