Time to think

"Sorry kid, this is for your own good" Is all Kevin says. He walks towards a table, sits down, and ignores you.

"You are making a big mistake," you say as you bang the bars. "At least go save Jenny, I'm not lying!" It seems like Kevin won't change his mind regardless of anything you do or say.

You walk around in circles, occasionally yelling "Fuck!" Eventually, you get tired and sit down in a corner. You start going over the events again and again, but you fail to see how you are wrong... everything fits too perfectly to be a coincidence. But why wouldn't Eric do anything? Is he scared, or does he have a plan?

You never thought that you would spend the night in prison when you came for help, but here you are. At least they gave you some good food, which you ate reluctantly, knowing you needed to preserve your strength. Mia came and checked your wounds and told you that they are looking into the stuff you said. That got your hopes up a bit.

The next day finds you still in prison, and Kevin isn't moving at all. He went to the bathroom for a minute or two, but other than that, he spent all the time with you. You feel sorry for him.

Food, water, and the occasional tapping of Kevin's phone are all you hear. Another wasted day, when you could be out there searching for Jenny. You swear someone will pay for this.

Suddenly you feel your pocket vibrating, and you realise that you still have your phone with you. You take it out carefully and see it's Tom.

"Hey buddy, you alright? I didn't see you at school today."

"Yeah, I'm fine. Just a little bit busy," you reply. He is your best friend; there is no point in dragging him into your mess.

"Is Jenny alright? They found Bandon dead near the woods; they said his face was a mess, and they couldn't even open the casket. "

You feel like crying. Jenny is still missing, and it seems they are trying to cover up your ****. You don't remember doing anything to his face.

"Yeah. Do you know what happened with Bandon?"

"I don't, but Leyla said it's more serious than it looks. It seems her mother had meetings with some army men, and she overheard them talking about some infection and killing people. Then her mother warns her not to spend time outside anymore. Just school and home. It scared her shitless."

"You make it sound like it's the beginning of a zombie movie!"

"Imagine hearing Jenny is absent, and then you also go missing after you hear that. If you add Bandon ... You two be careful, ok her mother wasn't joking! "

"Thanks, Tom, we will! You are a great friend!"

"Why sentimental all of a sudden?"

"Haha! We'll have a double date when we're back"

"Leyla will love that! GTG, teach is here."

You close your phone and start sobbing. A few weeks ago, you were a normal student getting ready for the harshness of life, with a loving family and a beautiful girlfriend, and now real life is smashing it all to pieces.

Eventually, you calm down and start thinking. At least now you know for sure there is something going on out there, and you're not crazy. And even if Eric decides to ignore everything, surely someone will notice something, right?

You spend the day and one more night in prison. When morning comes, Kevin wakes you up.
