Ezechiel asks about Abirit

You often eat lunch at the school building rooftop, both because it was the most quiet and you preferred the outdoor sun to the noisy classroom.

Your lunch was a simple bento of fried rice and stir-fried veggies with some bacon, served with some miso soup in a tumbler. Ezechiel's was more a set of onigiri with potato salad.

"So, you've been living with Abirit for a while," Said Ezechiel, "How is she doing these past few months?"

"Quite well; she's busy with housekeeping and shopping, but she's never complained once," You said, "And she's happy enough."

"Happy with your dad?" Asked Ezechiel.

You look at him, and at this he says, "You don't think Abirit wouldn't be calling or messaging me, did you?"

"Of course not," You said, "It's just... you know."

"I guess," Said Ezechiel, "So Abirit's happy with him?"

"My dad's never been happier - head's on cloud nine," You said, "Actually, she's pregnant right now."

At this, Ezechiel spits out his water in surprise, and after a brief spout of coughing he said, "W-When did you hear of this?"

"Just yesterday," You said.

"Wha-Already!?" Said Ezechiel in surprise.

"You didn't know?" You said, "I thought she told you this?"

"Well, I... I guess I was busy getting settled into my new home?" Said Ezechiel, "I mean, I was so damn tired I hit the bed without thinking about it."

"Ah, what the heck, never mind about that," You said, "Why come here to Japan? I mean, you've a reason for transferring to my school, don't you?"

"Well, to check up on my sister, of course," Said Ezechiel, "And to make sure you don't try anything funny."

At the look in his eyes you inwardly groan.

Of course, he's the overprotective type, You thought.

"Although, I do admit I want to enjoy living in Japan for a while," Said Ezechiel, "Heard a lot of good things and bad things, but it is the land of good food and anime, manga and all other things it's famous for. And I've heard that some of my friends like it here."

"Is that so?" You asked, "Well, just so you know, it's not all rainbows and sunshine living here."

"Yeah, I heard," Said Ezechiel, "But as they say, you won't know until you try it."

"Well, good luck to you," You said, "And just so you know, she's in good hands; neither I or Dad will let anything bad happen to her, okay?"

The school bell rang, and you quickly stood up saying, "Come on, we better not miss class."

Ezechiel followed behind you.

Around a corner, Misa was seething with jealousy, clenching her fists tightly.

"Abirit... I won't let you steal him from me...!" Misa whispered.

Marihito could not say anything, not wanting to provoke Misa's ire after being dragged into her antics.
