Unexpected message

I'm brought back to reality by the sound of a message on my phone. Damn, I didn't realize how much smaller my hands were now, I practically have to use both to wrap around it. Unlocking it I see that there's a message from my step brother Jason.

"Mom and Dad are fighting again. Can I come round for a bit?"

This is unfortunately a pretty common occurrence nowadays. My Mom and Dad got divorced about 7 years ago after she caught him cheating with another woman. Things were pretty bitter understandably and they didn't get much better when my Dad then married her a few months later. This sent Mon spiraling for a bit until she met my Step-Dad. Now I don't really have a problem with him, but we've just never gotten along. Guess he thought he would come in and I'd just see him as my father but that's just not what happened. But Jason didn't try to do that. We started out just sort of ignoring each other then he started getting picked on in school. He was a pretty scrawny kid back then. But I started sticking up for him, let him join in when I worked out. He was a late bloomer but after a few years caught up to all his classmates. After his growth spurt we just kept hanging out together. But not too long after I moved out my Mom and his Dad started having relationship troubles. Something about working too much? So he just comes over and we chill until things cool down over there.

Now that would be great, but there is one small problem at the moment. I'm on a very expensive X-Change pill and I really don't feel like taking the reversal pill after less than an hour of being on it. But I also don't want to turn him away. Sure he could go to a friend's place but… They're kind of assholes. If he comes over he'll also see me on X-Change. Now I don't think he'd tell my Mom, and it's not like I really care that much, but it's just one more thing that I'd rather avoid. But I want him to know that I've got his back when this shit happens. My thoughts are interrupted by another notification.

"You there man? Things are getting kind of intense here"

Shit. What do I do?
