The Battle of Burham

My army arrived at the gates of Burham. It was as the queen feared. The kingdom was overrun with demons. It could not be saved.

"All hope of saving Burham is lost." said one of the knights.

"I'm afraid we will have to ransack the city." I said, gravely. "Attack!"

My army charged into the city. It was large enough to defeat many of the lesser demons. My goal was also to kill Murguth personally. The army reached Murguth's castle and broke inside. With the Heavenly Sword in my hand, I charged through the demons in the castle, striking them down.

Eventually, I reached the throne room. Murguth was sat upon the throne.

"So we meet at last." he said. "But you are too late. I am far too powerful even for the Heavenly Sword."

Murguth summoned a skeleton with a sword and shield. I recognised it as the Skeleton King from legend. He was known as Gaston Murguth, ancestor of Searun Murguth. Like Searun, Gaston also gained power by killing his father and ruled Burham as a tyrant before being slain by a hero.

"Necromancy." I muttered.

"I thought my ancestor would make a useful ally." said Searun.

"I have the Heavenly Sword and I will strike you down."

I ran up to the Skeleton King and sliced him in half with my blade.

"That won't do you any good." said Searun. "Gaston is already dead. He will heal instantly from any-"

To Searun's shock, the Skeleton King turned to dust.

"He was just another demon." I said. "There is no foul creature the Heavenly Sword cannot slay."

Searun drew his own blade and attacked me. I instantly sliced his head off. The Dark Lord's body fell to the floor. I was half expecting my nemesis to get up again but he remained dead on the floor. I was kinda disappointed.

It all seemed too easy. Was Searun really the threat that I thought he was?
