The journey onwards.

It has been around half a day now since you all set off, the endless blue surrounding you and the others as you all looked to the horizon ahead in the darkness, as it was barely past midnight. Currently, you and most of the other girls were riding on South Dakota's battleship, which South Dakota herself had summoned not too long ago. As they put it, "It would be a lot less taxing on everyone both physically and mentally if we used one ship to carry most of us forward, instead of having to move around in our riggings for however long it will take. In the meantime, all the escort ships will be taking rotating shifts to ensure we aren't caught off guard by any Sirens or underwater mines, as both can appear out of nowhere at any point in time, even going undetected against our best radar equipment." To that end, everyone on board took it somewhat easy, mostly walking around and enjoying themselves before their shift comes in next. Though right now the majority were resting in various areas of the ship.

"I have to thank Miss Hornet and Miss Illustrious next time I see them...this was a great idea~" You smiled as you stretched your body on one of the bunk beds that you found inside the ship's interior, reading a book you brought along for the journey ahead. "Well, according to Miss Enterprise, it'll be another two and a half days or so until we arrive at our intended location...with one rest " You recalled before you soon put down your book and laid in the bed fully. "...Hm...Since I have time to kill...I think I can experiment a bit before we get there...Glad my shift ended half an hour ago~" You smiled mischievously as you closed your eyes and concentrated. Soon, you felt your ghostly form being gently pulled out of Dido's body, the latter of which spasmed for a little bit until you completely left her, at which point she lay still, breathing softly as though asleep.

"Oh...yeah, the mission with Miss Enterprise and the others...I felt like I did and said some weird things these past few days...but those are just so fuzzy..." She furrowed her brows as she really tried remembering, but ended up sighing quickly afterwards and shaking her head. "Mmn...no...it's useless, there's no point in remembering things that probably weren't that important..." She simply laid back down and started reading her book again.

"Huh, I guess the memories stay in her head, but anything that's too out of character for her gets blocked? I wonder if that's my doing or hers? Either way, I guess I won't have to worry that much!" You ended up sighing in relief, after all, if she ended up realizing she was possessed, she probably would try to warn the others somehow, which would **** you either to possess her or to step in and change her memories, though you weren't sure if doing that too often will end up messing with her in other ways than you currently realize. Your first goal was to move outside and see who's currently out on escort. "Some of the Destroyer girls...and I believe that Light Cruiser is... You eagerly bypassed the metal walls as you soon found yourself in the bridge, which was relatively lit compared to most of the ship, though with the curtains pulled and the windows slightly tinted, most, if not all of the light couldn't be seen from the outside, keeping this part of the ship mostly obscured in the darkness.

"So far the area's clear, Enterprise. I'm being told by our escorts that nothing's around us just yet..." You turned to the speaker, which you quickly identified was South Dakota. "That would be nice, but at least we're capable of feeling the number of individuals on us and generally keeping up with where they are on our ships whenever we happen to have them out." Enterprise shrugged.

"I suppose...Still, was it really wise to have us take three separate routes?" South Dakota asked, a bit of worry showing on her face. "It's bad enough that we're operating with only half of the overall fleet's manpower...but now we're further divided into three smaller taskforces operating at quite a distance...I can't help but feel like this is a bit too risky..."

"No, I understand your concern, South Dakota...and believe me, if we could have requisitioned more ship girls for this, we probably would be traveling closer to each of the taskforces due to a greater number of forces available to us would mean less risky methods...but this is the best way to cover ground and make sure there aren't any surprises trying to get the jump on us by heading around." Enterprise tried to ease the Battleship's worries.

"I still don't understand why the Sirens are amassing such a large and powerful **** in an otherwise useless area..." You then heard Illustrious giving out her statement as she came into the bridge with a tray that had three cups of tea on it. As she set it down, they all grabbed a cup and began to drink. "What are they planning...?"

"Regardless of what they're planning, we need to stop them. There's rarely a time where such a large number of Sirens, powerful ones at that, gather in a single area." Enterprise expressed her observation.

"Mmm...that's true...I hope the other bases will send reinforcements to assist us...otherwise this will certainly get dicey." South Dakota sighed as they all sat down, drinking their tea, and soon driving the conversation into more light hearted topics.

"Hmm..." The gears in your head got to turning. "It's gonna be a pain in the ass to explore and figure out where someone is and where someone isn't...then again..." You soon got an idea with a grin on your face. "Ah...right, I know someone who can feel out where the other ship girls are at~ Excuse me a moment, Miss South Dakota, I need to borrow you for a bit~"

"Well, so long as Miss South Dakota's fine with how she is, I see no reason to have her change her outfit~" Illustrious merely smiled as she took South Dakota's side.

"Thank you, Miss Illustrious. See, Enterprise? At least someone can appreciate my sexy outfit...~" South Dakota responded with a smirk.

"W-Well, I wasn't exactly trying to insult your outfit! A-And "sexy"??" Enterprise stammered a bit. "I was just trying to say that it was a bit revealing is all, sorry!"

"Hm, well I'll accept that apology. Maybe you should try wearing an outfit a little bit less...conservative. Maybe then you'll come to appreciate my own outfit~" South Dakota gave her a smile as she teased her.

"W-What?? I definitely won't do that!" Enterprise's face turned red. "Jeez, what's gotten into you?!"

South Dakota feigned ignorance as she talked while Illustrious was holding back her own smile and laughter silently in her seat.

"Ahh, whatever, I've had enough of this!!! The tea was great, Illustrious, thanks again!" Enterprise stood up, her face flushed in embarrassment and grabbed her cap. "I think I'll go take a nap and prepare for later!! Have a good night!" With that, Enterprise ended up leaving.

"Goodness, that was certainly something to behold~ I never took you for a teaser, Miss South Dakota, though I suppose we haven't had much time to talk properly~" Illustrious smiled, having been quite amused and overjoyed at this interaction, but soon yawned. "I guess I should probably head to bed soon as well~" She commented as she stretched and got up.

"Of course, Miss Illustrious, take care." South Dakota nodded to Illustrious, who gave an elegant bow in return before leaving as well.
