Chapter 138 by CaptainPulse

What does Hilda do?

Time to get sewing!

Hilda ran to the edge of the caravanserai and into the long grassy field, pulling strands of grass into her hands. Her feet were sore from a straight day of walking, and while the soft grass was comforting, the noble was dedicated to her mission. There was no time to dawdle.

As the light faded and the sun began to set, Hilda hurriedly gathered the grass strands from the field. She even went to gather fallen leaves from the edge of the treeline. She didn't have much time before the gates would be closed off. It might not be her best work, but she'd do it for Tina.

Having gathered enough foliage from the surrounding area, Hilda crossed her legs and sat down in an open area, her bare butt kicking up dirt. Looking at her collection of grass and fronds, Hilda set herself to work.

After Tina had been born, Hilda's second-favorite pastime (after her passionate nights with Hunk) was sewing her newborn daughter's clothes. The satisfaction of seeing Tina wearing her clothes had made Hilda feel so proud. And that feeling never abated even as Tina got older. Getting the opportunity to help her daughter now by doing what she was good at filled Hilda with determination and grit.

Still, despite being pressed for time, the **** mother knew that she had to give this task the energy it deserved.

The merchant looked out towards the caravanserai as the sun dipped below the horizon. He shook his head; maybe he'd pushed her too far. He'd missed his chance to get genuine Brandt creation.

"Hey!" Just as he was heading into the gates, the merchant saw Hilda running towards him, seemingly dressed more immaculately than before. He raised up a lantern to get a better look at her, and his eyes widened when he saw what she was wearing.

The noble had decorated her body with leaves, from her head to her feet. Her simple grass dress was now accentuated by a woven sunhat from strands of grass, a flowing cape made from red and orange leaves, and moccasins made from ferns and grass. It was hardly a complex outfit, but in the limited light, it almost seemed royal.

And there was more to her ensemble than what she had on her body. In her hands were multiple hand woven items, all of similar materials. From shirts to dresses to pants to shoes, the noble's forest garb gave her the appearance of one of the fey that were said to populate the forest. The merchant had to admit she looked regal, though it might have been the night atmosphere as much as it was her craftsmanship.

Hilda placed the delicate items on the table. "I think you'll have an easy time saturating the market. Is this worth the three gold I asked for?"

The merchant shook himself out of his stupor. He was a businessman, after all, and business was being done. "Well, I don't know. You've certainly got a lot of items here, but I'm not sure how practical they are."

"You just saw me run all the way over here in them!" Hilda replied, her exhaustion catching up with her. "What more do you need?"

What more does he need?
