Good Things Come to Those Who Wait

Donna never paid any attention to which emails and texts she'd read, nor did she think about updates screwing with her settings.

But she was more than pleased to announced to the class that due to the car accident that had put the Vice Principal out of action till the next school year, the district had just given them a new Principal, who was not one of the old school administrators who thought they were still in the 1950's. The new Principal was a young women who wanted to modernize and the teaching systems and spend less effort on complaining about Dress Code and foolishness, like students never being allowed to disagree with Teachers. She also informed that that the new Principal had actually looked at their test scores and complimented them on their vast improvement and informed them that the Vice Principals ways of doing things like discipline were over. They would be treated the way they acted.

Behave like adults and be treated the same way! Donna went on to tell them that if their test scores continued to climb, they'd no longer be considered the 'Problem' students. She also pointed out that they were almost to graduation and if even if they just their current grade in her class, and just passed their other classes, they be able to graduate. She added that if they kept working and brought up their scores even higher, they could graduate higher and possibly be in line to score 'Scholarships for Students from Disadvantaged Neighborhoods', that would allow them to attend a College, Junior College or Trade or Technical school.

The girls joked about what was open to them. But, Donna was still eager to steer them toward working harder and making her look better to her advisor and raise her status at the University.

But Donna was adamant that anything from Hair Dressing to Business was open to them. That was when Maria started steering the conversation towards the idea of them, going into business when they dressed as they did and didn't have the clothes or the money to buy better.

Donna was sure they just needed help to get some accessories and even if they shared clothes, they could put together a lot of looks that would allow most all of them get into an entry level job, where Pay Checks would allow them to build their new wardrobes.

But, Maria kept finding problems and her girls were only too happy to follow her lead, which ended with Maria challenging Donna to take another walk with them to a couple local clothing stores and show them how to pout together these looks she talked about for little money.

Donna needing to keep the girls working together and putting in the effort to make her look good to the University, didn't realize that she was walking her students trap. A trap that snapped even tighter when Donna told them that she'd learned of the new Principal via a Video Conference held in the office, and the new Principal Ms Carstairs, would actually be coming to the school the following week! To meet the Students and Teachers, before they took another State Mandated Test. As well as laying out a new Dress Code which made sense for both the area and the weather.

They also got Donna to agree to going shopping with them Friday after school, with summer coming fast, every day was a lot warmer and in this Neighborhood, summers were brutal! Way too much concrete and blacktop meant the ground turned into a heat sink holding and radiating heat, while all the buildings blocked he air, so their was rarely the hint of a breeze!
