Somewhere to hide

They had to do some preparation. If Chloe had her way then she would be bringing him home. Unlike before, Wes had no idea she was a married woman and there was the issue of what to do with Sean. The last time she had done something in the house she knew she could just ring him and tell him to come back but she didn’t know what she might or might not do with Wes.

They began by making sure the flat was clear of any sign of married life. It was only a case of a few photos that needed to be removed. The bedroom was less easy as it was clearly a couples room and it had all of Sean’s clothes in. They decided to craft a story that she had recently gotten out of a relationship and a lot of his stuff was still there. They just moved a few things out to make it look a bit more believable.

They had a spare room if you could call it that. It did have a single bed in it but there wasn’t room for much else. There were boxes of things that they had dumped in there as well as the ironing board, hoover and clothes airer. They set to work tidying it up as best they could so Sean would have somewhere to hide.

Sean did raise the question of what he was supposed to do if he needed the toilet and they decided to add to their little back story. He could have moved in when the boyfriend moved out. An old university friend, looking for cheap rent nearer to his new job and to help her cover her rent now she was single. He would stay out of the way but if her date heard him moving around it wouldn’t be suspicious.

They tried to make the room as comfortable as possible. One of the boxes ended up as a bedside table with a lamp on it. A tiny folding table and one of the spare dining chairs gave him somewhere to put a laptop so he could watch comfortably or entertain himself if nothing else.

Sean headed out and bought a lock for the door to stop any accidental opening. While he was out he bought some more surveillance gear. By the time he was done, there were several cameras in the bedroom and two in the bathroom. He also increased his cloud storage.

With all that done, all that remained was to await the date night. They felt confident that they were prepared for what might happen afterwards and while neither of them said it to the other, they both thought; ready for future dates to come.
