Check up on Penny in her body

Ruby had been a little surprised she had Penny’s clothes, but figured she accidentally hit the Wardrobe and Body Swap in her excitement. Not wanting to give the body back immediately, she went in the direction Penny was heading. She wanted to at least say hi to her friend and see if Penny acted any differently. Luckily, Penny hadn’t gone far.

“Penny!” Ruby called out. She got to witness herself turning around to see who called out to her and then beaming when she saw who it was.

“Salutations, Friend Ruby!” Penny called back and the two of them ran forward into a hug. “Ooo, you’re as strong as ever.”

“Woops.” Ruby blushed. “Sometimes I forget my own strength. How have you been?”

“I’ve have been doing well. What about you?”

“I’ve… been better.” Ruby admitted. “Mostly looking for a distraction.”

“What kind of trouble?” Penny asked worriedly. “Not White Fang or runaway friends, is it?”

“No.” Ruby shook her head quickly. “Boy trouble.”

“Boys?!” Penny’s silver eyes lit up. “We should totally talk about boys sometime.” Her expression grew solemn and her voice lowered. “I’m sorry I can’t tonight though. I have to go for my regularly schedule testing for my organic components. They have to make sure my DNA is stable.”

So is Penny a clone or something in this reality? Ruby thought to herself. Then what does it make me with a metal body?

“Will you be free this weekend?” Ruby asked.

“Sunday,” Penny said. “I’m supposed to prepare for the Vytal Festival on Saturday, but I promise to meet up with you the following day. I really would like to spend time with you.”

“It’s a date.” Ruby replied, smiling.

“How wonderful!” Penny said, slapping her hands together. “I have never been on a date. I’m supposed to worry about what to wear, right?”

“Hang on!” Ruby had to stop her before this got out of hand. “Date is just a saying here. It’s just us hanging out as friends.”

“That still sounds sensational.” Penny told her. “I will do everything I can to ensure my schedule is free.”

“I look forward to it too.” Ruby waved goodbye as Penny left.

Ruby debated what to do while Penny walked away down the hall. Penny had her body and clothes, while Ruby had hers. Everyone else would still consider this normal, so it wasn’t like anything bad would come from it. One Undo would swap her back, regardless where they were. What Ruby was considering was swapping something else with Penny. Like names or weapons. While Ruby loved her baby, Crescent Rose, she debated if it was worth trying out Penny’s cool multi swords. There were other options, but she had to decide fast.

Of course, she didn’t have to swap anything more. Penny’s interaction already showed Ruby was super strong and it might be fun to go to a training room and see how fighting changed now that she was an android.

“I’m combat ready.” Ruby muttered and then giggled.

Lastly, maybe she should look for a new target to swap something with. The school was a big place.
