Penny Polendina

Ruby wandered around Beacon, looking for a good target. Not sure who to pick, she decided to just hit the first person who rounded the corner. Ruby pretended to be involved on her Scroll, when movement caught her eye. Looking up, she saw a familiar looking girl.

The girl had short, rather curly orange hair with a small ahoge on top, and she wore a pink bow on the back of her head. She also had bright green eyes, light skin and freckles. She wore a whitish-gray old-fashioned blouse with short gray feminine overalls as well as a black and green collar with a matching pair of stockings.

She was Ruby’s friend, Penny Polendina.

She was a kind and curious girl, though a little strange. It wasn’t her fault though. She wasn’t actually a human. She was an android created by Atlas and implemented with an artificial soul. Though her body wasn’t technically living tissue, Ruby considered her alive. Penny had feelings, loved to learn, and wanted to make friends. If you got past her strange way of talking and a lack of understanding personal space, she was actually pretty cute.

The remote instructions did say the remote didn’t work on nonliving things, so this would be a test on multiple levels.

Perfect, Ruby thought, aiming the remote and pressing the button. There was a flash of green light and Ruby saw herself in the distance wearing Penny’s clothes. Ruby reached up and felt her hair, which seemed to be a little more abundant and saw a strand of orange. Cool! I have to check myself out in a mirror. I knew Penny was alive.
