Jon Shows the Starks his so-called Secret Weapon
A/N: This is gonna be a shorter chapter but well, gonna get extra busy soon and I wanted to get that mystery out of the way early on if possible. Anyway, enjoy the surprise.
After the feast, his siblings couldn't take the curiosity anymore and asked Jon to show them the secret weapon that Lyra Mormont had mentioned. And so, after assuring them it was waiting for him barely a mile from the walls, in the woods nearby, the Stark family started marching towards that location, with the Bastard of Winterfell guiding them.
Arya decided to try to fish for answers on the way. "Where did you find this weapon?" She asked.
Jon looked at her and chuckled. "On the jungle continent of Sothoryos," He revealed.
His father turned to him sharply at that revelation. "You have also traveled to the wildly dangerous, southern continent?" He asked with surprise.
"A few times, yes," Captain Snow confirmed. "But I mostly stuck to the coastal areas. Disease and pestilence run rampant the further inland you get, to say nothing of the threat posed by the numerous beasts that make that vast jungle their home. And besides, there are not many good maps of Sothoryos available to the public, so the continent remains mostly unexplored."
"Which is very true," He reminded himself mentally. "After all, the experienced sailors of the Summer Islands guard their own maps, which are far better than from anywhere else in the known world, very carefully for economic and sovereignty reasons. I simply decided to respect the wishes of the Summer Islander Princess that I claimed as my property and not release the much more elaborate charts she gladly provided for me to the public."
"And why did you even make it to Sothoryos?" Bran asked. "I can't imagine you went there for no reason."
"I was following the advice from a...sorcerers that I came across early on after arriving at Essos," He admitted. "I had a feeling that it would be beneficial to follow her advice. And what do you know, I was right."
Before they could respond to that, Jon raised his hand to signal them to halt now that they had approached the entrance to the woods. So, Jon proceeded as planned and took out a small knife and pricked at a fingertip of his, to the widened eyes of his family members.
"What was that for?" Robb asked, sounding alarmed.
"This "secret weapon", as Lyra put it, is fully under my control due to some...instructions from that sorceress that I followed but if I need to call on her from far away so that she can rush to my defense if I get ambushed or something, then the easiest way to get her to come to me is by spilling a little bit of my blood," He explained. "She recognizes my distinct scent that way and from far off too."
As if on cue, they started to feel a sudden gust of wind buffeting their faces unexpectedly. Jon smirked.
"Khūra!" He called. "I want you to meet my pack! Come here!"
And just like that, he could see his family members going completely speechless as they saw an enormous winged creature with green-skinned, leathery wings and a ferocious-looking beak. It was around 30 feet long.

Jon got closer to her as she landed before then and started caressing her powerful beak, to the astonishment of the crowd before him, so that the tense guards would have more reason to relax.
"Everyone, this is Khūra," The Bastard of Winterfell announced with a touch of pride in his tone. "She is a Brindled Wyvern from the Southern Skies of the Jungle Continent of Sothoryos. And I am her rider."
A/N: And there you go XD
For the record, wyverns are a thing in the books and they didn't get in danger of extinction after the Doom like the dragons did because, a) they were not close enough to Valyria to be affected by the cataclysm and b) as far as we know, they had never been tamed by the people from Essos and/or the natives from Sothoryos. But then again, wargs are very rare in that part of the world and Jon had interesting guidance when it comes to her, along with bigger ambitions sooo...yeah.
And for those that don't know, Sothoryos is indeed a continent from the books, kind of analogous to Africa in that world. It's largely unexplored by the present-day series although it has long been suspected that the Summer Islanders have secret maps that are way better than those the Citadel has; they just guard them well. Well, not well enough to deny Jon access to their copies once he used his powers of Written Ownership to claim an actual princess from the Summer Islands but overall, yeah, they rarely share that information. More on what Jon intends to do with that data later.
Anyway, hope you enjoyed it. Please leave a comment if that was the case and I will try to update as soon as possible.
