She falls overboard

Beidou and her crew had sailed through numerous storms, and this one seemed less severe than usual, but Beidou’s carelessness had gotten her thrown overboard. One moment, the deck was rocking beneath her feet as waves crashed into the side of her ship, the Alcor. The next moment, she was knocked off her feet and crashed down into the waves.

Members of her crew called down to her, and tried to throw her a lifeline, but Beidou even as Beidou tried to swim towards her ship she felt the waves pulling her down.

With her ship getting further and further away, it was clear she’d have to swim for a long time if she was going to await a rescue.

But her clothes had gotten soaked through, and their weight paired with her heavy sword were starting to pull her beneath the water.

Grunting, Beidou lifted the scabbard that held her sword, letting the blade fall into the sea without her. That was quite a weight off her shoulders, but she was worried her soaked clothes would still burn through her stamina.

Confident in her body, Beidou didn’t hesitate before beginning to remove her clothes. She took off her Vision and hung it from her eye-patch, as that was the one thing she wouldn’t be able to replace. But soon enough, Beidou was able to remove everything else she wore, floating naked in the rough waters.

Soon enough, the storm passed and Beidou was left floating in calm waters.

But her ship was nowhere in sight.

After another hour of aimlessly floating, Beidou caught sight of a ship sailing towards her. She could tell at a glance that it wasn’t her Alcor. But this may be her best hope for rescue.
