Chapter 15 by Katnaace Katnaace

Take him up on the offer?

Annita took him up on the offer

Thinking it over for a moment, Annita nodded. Even if the date did turn out to be a bust, she didn't really have much to lose on this.

"I would love too." Annita cooed and felt Hamza reach out to his hand. Grabbing hold, she allowed him to pull her past the mosque and into parts unknown. Passing by a variety of shops and other little places, the pair eventually came to a stop in front of a restaurant.

Heading inside, the pair found themselves faced with polished sandstone floors and faux marble walls. Booths and tables had been placed throughout the area. From the look of things, they could just seat themselves. For this outing, Annita and Hamza made their way to a booth.

"How are you?" Hamza inquired as he watched Annita sit down. Taking care to make she didn't squish the various bags with all her new clothes, her attention returned to her date. She hadn't planned on going on a date, so she had little in the way of a frame of reference for something like this.

"Quite good, if I'm being honest here." Annita remarked, doing her best to keep the appropriate tone for an old lady. A task that had become far easier with her trips to the mosque. She was still nowhere close to where she wanted to be, but that was just a matter of doing more practice. "This is my first time eating at a place like this. Could you perhaps order for me?"

Hamza did a double take, but chuckled right after.

"For a pretty old lady like you, I would be glad too." Hamza explained and grabbed hold of Annita's hand. Raising it up, a smile formed on his face. Right as the waitress came over with a set of menus. Dressed in a red version of Annita's outfit, she took care in setting the menus down.

"Are there any drinks you want to start off with?" the waitress inquired, Annita's gaze shifting to the menu. Opening it up, she found herself faced with not but instead a language she didn't recognize. Looking to Hamza, he set his menu down and faced the waitress.

"Two coffees." Hamza explained and watched the waitress scribe down on her notepad. Turning around, she headed off for the kitchen. Which served as Hamza's cue to return his attention to Annita. "Have you thought about converting? You're far more pious than any woman I've ever seen."

Annita's cheeks turned pink, the words not quite connecting with her mouth. She had never put any thought into something like that. Letting out a mental deep breath, she got to putting her thoughts back in order. Easier said than done while waiting the coffees to return.

"I'll keep that in mind." Annita answered as the waitress came back with their coffees. Taking a sip, it was unlike anything she had tasted before. Would the same be said about the food? Most likely. Looking to the waitress, she waited a moment for Hamza to order for her.

"Of course." the waitress announced and scribed something down on her notepad. Heading back to the kitchen, that was Hamza's cue to return his attention to Annita.

"Is there anything you wish to ask me?" he inquired and Annita looked away once more. What exactly should she even say here? Conversations had never been her forte. Put on the spot like this, what exactly could she even ask here without it sounding completely stupid and out of character? Racking her mind a couple times, Annita came to a solution.

"What made you want to take me out on a date?" Annita announced, doing her best to come across as natural as she could manage here. Quite a bit more than she expected too.

"You looked so beautiful that I had to look pass your age." Hamza explained and watched his date blush. Giving her a moment to think of something else, he admired her beauty. Clearly an old lady, she was still a long ways off from the full extent of her beauty. But he kept those thoughts to himself for now.

"Uh... thank you." Annita whispered and let out a deep breath. Hamza was clearly interested in her and she... was very much interested in him. Hopefully Delia would understand.

"Here's your food." the waitress announced and set a salad down on the table. The silverware came right after, the pair's attention turning to the greens. Digging right in, Annita felt a sense of serenity wash over her. Much like the new outfit, she wanted to feel this more often.

"I'll pay for the meal." Hamza explained and Annita nodded. He was such a charmer. She could very easily see her future with him. Perhaps he could see the same with her. Nonetheless, the waitress came back with the check. Taking the time to pay, Hamza's gaze returned to Annita. "It was a pleasure to meet you."

Annita nodded, her cheeks going red one more time.

"I could say the same about you as well." she cooed and got up from the table. Heading out of the restaurant, Annita felt the happiest she had been in a considerable amount of time. Perhaps things were looking up for her.

Heading towards the future...
