Chapter 161 by Johnrocker Johnrocker

The Eagle Nest…

Conversation with Bryce

Knocking on the door of the infamous Eagle Nest shed had Mark’s heart beating fast.

Bryce sighed immediately as he saw who was standing there. He didn’t want to deal with someone like this right now.

“Can I come in?” Mark asked, worried about what he would say about the thought of Mark joining him.

Bryce chose not to say a single word, he just shrugged and just moved to the side to let him in. He continued to stay silent as he let Mark walk straight inside to what was an empty room this afternoon.

Behind him, after closing the door, Bryce made his way back to a leather couch chair. Mark took the spare one that was just to his left. He knew this would be awkward but he just had to do it. Quickly apologise and get it out of the way.

Mark explained to him about how sorry he was, for everything, the car, the injuries, all of it. That whole time, Bryce just stared towards the floor. He didn’t know if he was flat out ignoring him, listening or waiting to throw a punch.

Eventually he turned his head to speak.

“My parents are thinking about cutting me off.”

“What? Why?” Mark asked confused.

“They say if I can’t look after a car like that then I don’t deserve to have those types of things,” he said, sounding very flat.

Mark again knew that was all of his fault, he was the one who wrote off the Rolls Royce.

“I’m so sorry Bryce, that’s my fault as well, you shouldn’t be blamed for that,” he apologised again, “I’m assuming you don’t want me to return to trainings next year…”

“No,” he cut him off, “You’ll train and you’ll play.”

Mark was shocked to hear him say that, he figured that he was no chance whatsoever of returning to the team even though he was now an integral part of it.

“Are you sure? I thought I would be out?”

Bryce nodded, facing him again, “You’re on the team but we’re not friends anymore. No more favours. I’m not going to be looking out for you anymore and that all starts now, I want you to leave the Eagle Nest right now.”

He could see the serious intense look in Bryce’s eyes. The man wasn’t fooling around, if he didn’t leave now he may leave in an even worse condition he was currently in.

Mark got out of the chair, apologised once more before leaving the place for good.

The following day…
