Chapter 154 by Johnrocker Johnrocker

Later that evening…

Cassidy and Matt have a chat

“And the winner of the 2019 Hall Tournament… NORTH WING!!”

Standing on the side of the stage, East Hall’s RA’s politely clapped for the winning hall, despite being disappointed about being the runner up’s this year.

Tiffany looked dejected with how hard she had worked all month to gather up money for their charity. To her side, Paul seemed to be living in a different world, high as a kite.

After the speeches and celebrations, the crowd increased around the stage as the live music began, that of which that would last most of the night.

As the dark night sky replaced the bright blue one, the Ferris wheel became even more popular. Up near the front of the line was Cassidy, standing with Natalie, Winter and a couple of other girls from East Hall.

Right before she was about to jump into a carriage, the brunette was stopped.

“Hey Cas! Any chance I could join you up there,” a familiar voice spoke.

It was Matt, her ex-boyfriend. He looked in poor shape, he hadn’t shaved for a while, letting a bit of a beard grow on his chin for the first time ever.

Cassidy looked a little surprise to see him right there, she took a glance at her female friends to see their reaction.

“Go on Cas,” Winter then told her, encouraging her to have that chat with her ex.

Matt half smiled, giving a little nod out to respect to Winter who had just helped him out quite a bit. Cutting the line and jumping past the girls, he came in and took a seat in the carriage next to Cassidy.

He had a quick chance to admire how she looked as he took the seat next to her. Cassidy had on blue jeans and a sleeveless yellow floral print top on. Matt subtly peeked at her breasts that were visibly at her chest.

“What’s the rush to chat here?” she asked him as the Ferris wheel began to move up slightly.

Matt took a bit of deep breath before he started speaking to her, remembering what he had rehearsed earlier. “I know you’ve heard about what happened with me and Jade and there’s a few things I really just need to get off my chest.”

Cassidy looked to her side at him, waiting for him to continue.

“Firstly, I want to apologise for how we both treated you over the last however many months… that thing at the cafe sort of woke me up to how disrespectful we’ve been.”

Was that a sign of maturity, Cassidy wondered. She was certainly hurt by the both of them so it was nice to hear that he understood that he was in the wrong when it came to that.

“I appreciate that Matt,” she said with a very slight smile.

“Secondly, I just want to know if there’s any chance of us rekindling things. You know, just in like a pure human friendship level,” he said, attempting to sound more intelligent that he had ever done before.

“You want to be friends?”

“Well… In the perfect world, I want us to be more than that… I just know that’s too much for me to ask right now,” he explained.

The Ferris wheel had moved up quite a bit now and the two had plenty of privacy as they sat up in their air. Cassidy started to feel the cold air a lot more, she shivered in his sleeveless top.

“Oh… take this,” Matt said, actually noticing how the weather affected her. The boy took off his jacket and helped put it around Cassidy to keep her warm as they got closer to the top of the Ferris Wheel.

“Thank you… can I ask you something?” she then said.

“Sure.”

“Did you really break up with Jade because you love me?”

Matt looked down below before turning to face the brunette, “Cas… I never stopped loving you.”

She pouted her lips hearing this, it was also true that Cassidy had never stopped thinking about him either.

“I was obviously super angry and had to end things after that whole debacle but… didn’t mean I ever stopped thinking about you.”

Cassidy was struggling to wipe the smile off her face, to hear this from Matt was more than a little special. She agreed with him that getting back together right now just didn’t make sense as of yet. They had to build up to that but she wasn’t ruling out a potential relationship after college with him.

“How about we focus on fixing this friendship before we talk about anything else that may follow it,” she told him.

Matt’s ideal situation would have just been straight up forgiveness from Cassidy and the two of them ending up banging in his dorm room straight after the ride. However, he understood and agreed with his ex-girlfriend.

As they sat at the top of the Ferris Wheel, the two just enjoyed each other’s company for a while.

“Isn’t a little funny?” Cassidy said as they stared out at the night sky, looking down at everyone below them.

“What do you mean funny?”

“Funny that we’re having this chat now on the very same day last year that everything between us ended,” Cassidy said.

Matt half chuckled while also sighing, “True… at least this time nobody is getting beat up on a bouncy castle.”

The two shared a laugh and a further chat as the Ferris wheel made its full 360 right round. The former couple weren’t going to end the night in some sort of happy sexual fairytale ending but across the campus, plenty of other pairs were getting down to business…

Who’s fucking tonight?
