Her caretakers arrive to change her.

Ellen just laid there.

She had no thoughts, or at least she had nothing to really think about. She had ran out of things to think about.

She had thought of ways of escaping her imprisonment. She thought of ways to talk her way out of her predicament. She thought of ways she could live with her present situation. She thought of ways to keep her sanity.

She even thought of ways to die just to end the tedium of her hopeless situation.

The feeling in her loins started to irritate her. The heat wasn't comfortable anymore and if she didn't get out of it soon, it would give her a rash.

The node behind her neck made a light "bing" noise and told her that her caretakers have been notified of her present needs and will be there shortly.

Well, it didn't actually make a "bing" noise or tell her anything. Babies aren't supposed to understand language or discern a good noise from a bad one. It was more like the node uploaded the meaning behind the noise and words directly into her brain.

It was like an infomercial that broadcasted itself in the form of an intrusive thought.

It will never not be creepy.

A line of light drew itself onto one of the walls of her cell and opened like a door, her caretaker letting itself in.
