Roommate interruption

A loud crash alerted Alvin to the arrival of his current roommate, his step-sister. Unlike his stable adulthood, the daughter of the woman who married his father was living meagerly, currently couch surfing with Alvin until she got back on her feet. Tracy's initial arrival was two years ago, and through absolutely no fault of her own, she spent every paycheck going out drinking and dancing with friends. She used familial bonds as an excuse to mooch off her successful step-sibling. "You home, Alvin?" She yelled through the house. He had no idea where she'd been and wasn't even expecting to see her this weekend. That was usually not a good sign for him. She opened the door at the top of the basement. "Alvin?" She yelled just as loudly.

"Yes." He replied at a reasonable volume. He heard her annoyed pace as she entered his work space. She observed it with the usual look of disrespect and misunderstanding. "Looking to spend some quality time?" He sardonically asked. He knew what she was actually looking to spend.

"No." She rolled her eyes, tired of the same joke. "My card got declined, and they kicked me out of the club last night." She began her retelling of the night. "So I just went home with a guy and had him buy us beer and food and stuff. But this morning, the money in his wallet could only buy me a small coffee." She paused for effect, but the drama of the story was lost on Alvin. "Anyway, I need more money, so can you wire me some or give me some cash?"

"What have I told you about saving your own money?" Alvin lectured on deaf ears. He could see Tracy already texting the next sad sap off of which she would try to mooch. She found that much easier, because she could offer to compensate them with sex without wanting to barf her brains out. In a show of annoyance, Alvin aimed his new toy at his oblivious step-sister, planning to bop her with one of his new suction orbs. He learned a few more things about the device from this pull of the trigger: he found that the device did not provide audio cues by default, letting him miss the warning about a lack of secondary input; he discovered that the hose barrel could suck as well as blow, as he watched small chunks of matter get pulled off his sibling and into the hose; he learned this process was painless, as Tracy didn't react until her phone dropped from her now missing hands.

"What the f-' was all she uttered before being cut of by a lack of corporeal form. Alvin blinked in shock at his sudden privacy. He looked to the screen in panic and found the display showing Tracy in wireframe. Everything looked perfect down to the outfit she had been wearing. The collector felt like time was suddenly against him; was she in danger? It didn't seem to cause her harm, judging by her reaction to absorption, only panic. He decided any discomfort this caused was karmically justified. Tracy had a list of tags like the inanimate balls, and the scroll bar on her list implied a massive collaboration of descriptors compared to a simple foam projectile. The last tags he selected on the remaining balls were still highlighted, leaving him to choose tags from Tracy before he could cause a fusion. He discovered some new features, like selecting all or none of an objects tags with one button press, and a sort of cataloging feature that kept track of previously inserted objects. foam bullets offered few interesting tags for adding to his step-sister, but he had a plethora of other iconic toys he could borrow traits from, if he understood these more abstract tags that something as complex as a human could provide.
