Fustration

"I'm sorry about that." Mrs. Blake said.

"Goddess, I just wish this was over." Patty said as he said with Billy in her office.

"I had a plea deal all set with Jessie." She said "Coffee?"

Both boys nodded and accepted the cups.

"I gave her only 1 year in jail, not prison, because that's for longer sentences, and ten years probation, overseen by the authorities back in your home state. But then Ms. 'Sandwich Short of a Picnic', "defender of the Matriarchy", swoops in and convinces Jessie that she can get her off completely. That it's a woman's natural right to select her mate... They call people like her 'Sovereign Citizens', basically they pick and choose what laws they want to follow when it's convenient for them."

"She's why this has been taking so long?" Patty asked.

"Yeah. She's dragged her feet the entire way. Motion after motion. requests for Discovery. Her entire argument is that you are a slut who led Jessie on and that by telling him you're gay, which Ms. Fisher is convinced is a lie, she snapped when her 'instincts' as a woman kicked in."

"That is the dumbest thing I've ever heard." Billy said.

"Damn right." Mrs. Blake said. "And now that she's been held in contempt, we have to wait for her to bite the bullet and apologize to the judge or hope Jessie can choose to fire her."

"What if someone tries to talk to her about it."

"That could be seen as undue influence on the case. She is entitled to a fair trial, and it is my solemn duty to ensure that happens, even if it means I loose and she walks free."

"What... What if I say I went willingly?"

"That would mean you'd be guilty of perjury. YOU would go to jail as well. And I can't retract the case because you're not the only one who was 'injured', to use the legal term, by her actions. The owners of the amusement pier she burned a hole in are out for blood."
