At Lunch

At lunch after Weiss and Velvet showed the school they were in a relationship with their PDA as Weiss held Velvet's hand as she led her to her team's table to introduce her Cardin flung a mound of mashed potatoes at Velvet hitting back of her head getting all in her hair and rabbit ears.

Weiss was so enraged Velvet was haven't problems holding her back so teams RWBY and JNPR had to help restrain her and pull her out of the cafe. Both girls were crying at the bullying ruining their moment. Ruby and Yang led the 2 into into their room to comfort them. Velvet's soon showed up to help out.

Jaune went to Goodwitch to get something done about Cardin's bullying and racism.

After hearing his tale Glynda just sighed " Mr Arc how much do you know about vale's political situation?"

"What does that matter?" Jaune asked angrily

"In this situation? Everything. Have you ever asked Velvet why she doesn't bother to report Cardin? Or we don't nail him for bullying?" Glynda responded sadly.

"the Winchester's are a very powerful family, going back to before the Great War. Back then they were Duke's. Now they hold high level political jobs, judge ships and high level bureaucrats. And they all look out of their family members. If Velvet reports him THEY WILL get back at her through her family. I doubt even Ms. Schnee.....ire would hold them back from getting payback." she continued sadly.

"Why not kick him out?"

" 2 reasons. One the political fallout of kicking a Winchester out for Bullying would tear the kingdom apart and we don't know who would come out on top afterwards. And second......Jaune we desperately need every Hunter we can get. Since the Great War and Color revolution the kingdoms have been steadily losing ground to the Grimm and bandits. It's the same reason we allow the SDC to get away with it's awful work conditions. We need every bit of dust they produce just to hold our ground now. If we had them shut down their mines to modernize or get them up to code we will lose the frontiers of every kingdom. " Glynda explained the political and military realities to him.

Jaune was shocked "I never heard of this on TV or in my classes."

"We don't want to panic the civilians. As for the mines it was brought up showing the faunus leadership in Menagerie why the mines are so bad but none of the leaders of the world know how they would respond. Whitley Schnee is going unofficially meet with the Chief Belladonna and his wife in a few days here in Vale as a meet and greet set up by Gen Ironwood and his sister Winter. Just to show them Jacques Schnee won't be in charge forever. And we could only do that by hiding the fact from Jacques that his dutiful son hates his guts. He also doesn't really like his sisters very much either but he does see the writing on the wall for the kingdoms "

" We can't really do anything to Cardin unless he seriously hurts someone BUT we won't really look to hard at people who.....respond as long as no one gets hurt and it's not clear cut" Glynda told him.

"I see" Jaune responded. "I will have to think about this"

"Vengeance is a dish best served cold" Glynda smiled at him.

Jaune left the room and sought out a little used room to think things out. Getting there he thought of the Book and it appeared in his hands. "Any adice?" He asked.

"DO YOU WISH TO STRIKE AT THE BOY OR HIS FAMILY?" the voice responded.
