The Vote

Sarah once again stood near the front of the conference room with Natalie. A special meeting of the tenured faculty of the Women's Studies department had been called, to vote on the changes that Sarah had proposed.

"Settle down!" bellowed Natalie. She didn't mind yelling when it suited her. The ladies hushed each other and, once the room was quiet, Natalie said, "As you know, we're going to be voting on Sarah's proposed glory hole changes. I'm going to let Sarah speak, but first, are there any preliminary remarks?"

There was a cough from down the table. Natalie looked up and Kate had her hand up. "Yes, Kate?" she asked.

"I motion that we split the resolution into three parts, and vote on them separately," said Kate. "First, the one-way glass, nudity, swallowing promise, and role-play; second, the cameras; and third, the piss-drinking."

"I second the motion!" said Luisa, sitting next to Kate. 'They pre-arranged this,' thought Sarah.

"Show of hands?" asked Natalie. The split carried unanimously. Sarah voted for it, feeling that it at least wouldn't hurt, and might help if one part was voted down.

"Motion passes," said Natalie. "Now, any comments on the first vote? This is to install one-way glass, to require nudity in the booth, to renew and extend our commitment to swallowing cum, and to ask for more role-play and send out sample scripts."

Kate again raised her hand. "I personally think this is all fine. I'd like to encourage a vote in favor."

Carol said, "I am still not that comfortable with the nudity aspect. So I'm not sure I want to vote for this."

"Come on, Carol!" exclaimed Luisa. "What's feminism for if not embracing the differences in our bodies?"

"Easy for you to say," said Carol. "You're gorgeous."

"But too tall to be in a relationship with," replied Luisa bitterly. "They literally called me 'too-tall' in high school..."

"Ok, let's vote now," said Natalie, cutting them off. The vote was overwhelming, with only Carol voting against.

"Motion passes," said Natalie. "Now, on to the cameras."

"I object," said Luisa. "I don't mind being nude in there, but I don't think I want to be a porn star. What will prevent men from sharing these clips?"

"Nothing will," said Sarah. "But there's no reason to prevent it. Anyway, it's not like you can lose your job over this -- you have tenure."

"What about the grad students and the pre-tenure professors, though?" asked Luisa. "We have an obligation to consider them."

"Yes. But, we're changing the world now -- previously you might have had an argument, because maybe a blowjob movie would result in being fired. But that won't happen here, certainly, and our work in this area is ensuring that you won't have trouble finding a different job if you wanted. This applies to all the staff."

"Well said, Sarah," said Joanne. "I'm in favor of this change. I read the papers and the benefits are clear."

Natalie put this to a vote, and a majority voted for it. Carol, Luisa, and Kate opposed, but the other seven professors were in favor. As there was a clear majority, Natalie did not vote.

"Next up," said Natalie. "Piss drinking."

Several women raised their hands at once. Natalie pointed. "Yes, Luisa?"

"I'm opposed to this, because it is disgusting and demeaning," she said. "I can't believe we're even having this discussion."

Joanne interjected, "Did you even read the papers? Because..."

Natalie interrupted her. "Yes, Joanne... but it is disgusting, isn't it? I mean, it's not like a normal sex thing. It's piss!"

'Oh no,' thought Sarah. 'I should have worked harder to line up support for this.' Then she said, "Well, yes, I understand your concerns. It does seem disgusting -- but only because it's been relegated to the fetish category. It's actually harmless to drink. So, I feel that supporting this is an important sex-positive feminist goal. We're normalizing harmless expressions of sexual attraction, helping an unappreciated minority achieve equality. Secondarily, because it's a minority, we won't actually be doing it all that much."

Natalie looked thoughtful at this, but Carol said, "I'm with Luisa. I guess it's hypocritical of me, but this is a minority I don't want to support. It's too gross."

Joanne said, "God, you two. It's sterile, and this is the first really revolutionary idea to come out of this department in a while! We'd be on the cutting edge! I'm strongly in favor just for that reason alone -- it's going to put a rocket under our careers!"

Kate also spoke up. "I'm also against. It's bad enough that I have to suck cocks -- it's no secret I prefer women -- but to have to do this... just no."

After more verbal sparring, Natalie said, "I don't think we're getting any new information here. Let's vote."

She took a show of hands, and it was five to five. Everyone looked up the table at her expectantly -- she held the tie-breaking vote. Sarah crossed her fingers.

Natalie looked down the table. "It is really disgusting," she said finally. Luisa smiled and Kate looked relieved. "But, I feel swayed by Sarah's arguments, so nevertheless I must vote 'yes'. The motion passes."
