"So I think I should do a quest now," Frank said.
"There's a quest to kill some Direwolves that causing problems in a village. They're like wolves only dire. There's also a quest to kill some goblins in a goblin cave. These are both E-Rank quests."
Quests are ranked like this;
- Z-Rank; easiest quests. Even the average human can do them. They usually don't even involve any danger whatsoever, just delivering an item or finding a lost cat.
- E-Rank; easiest quests that involve actual fighting. Often involve fighting low level monsters like Goblins, Direwolves and Slimes.
- D-Rank; monsters are a bit harder but not by much and there's often a miniboss. You're not a real adventurer until you've completed one of these.
- C-Rank; the monsters are considered to be Bosses, often very big. Top government and military positions are usually require the completion of such a quest.
- B-Rank; monsters here are the strongest next to Dark Lords and many of them are usually a high ranking minion of a Dark Lord.
- A-Rank; these quests usually involve fighting a Dark Lord. Such a quest only pops up every ten years but they go uncompleted for so long that there's usually ten of these quests at a given moment.
- S-Rank; the rarest of quests. There's usually only one of these quests a century. Anyone who can complete these quests are considered Heroes of Legend.
Of course the rankings are based on the information that the guilds have at the time. An E-Rank could involve fighting a C-Rank monster but if the guilds don't know of the C-Rank monster the quest will be considered E-Rank.
So Frank had to chose between killing Direwolves or goblins.
