Postgame Chat 2: The Return

I'll give the poll on the next SSS a little more time, then proceed with the one in the lead. (It's currently SSS 1980, but with so few votes that can change easily. If there's a tie when I call it, I'll flip a coin.)

Here's a little heads up of what to expect in terms of what will be going on behind the scenes in the next SSS, no matter which one it is:

SSS had a major weakness: being all about survival took away from the lewdness, making readers afraid to go after fun choices and trying to be practical. Don't do **** and don't have sex is the cardinal rule of being a slasher movie girl, but this is not optimal in a lewd story. In the next SSS, horniness itself will not be punished.

The story will not be purely about survival, so you don't have to laser focus on practicality. There won't be zero stakes, but your votes and decisions should be about what you prefer or what you think will make for an interesting story, not a focus on some kind of win-state. Rather than right and wrong answers, questions will just feed into different hidden scores that will have certain affects later in the story. These hidden score categories will be things like Boldness, Seduction, and Cunning. There is no way to play to game these scores optimally because you don't know what kind of situations you're going to be in, so you can't know which category to dump stats into. So there's no reason not to just do what feels fun. Your decisions will affect who lives and who dies, but not as directly and harshly as they did in SSS.

MEANWHILE, this next one will not be quite as much of a mystery, so the main game isn't about guessing the killer. Each decision will have different point values based on an informal little formula of mine. Everyone who participates and votes goes into a spreadsheet, and I'll be keeping score. At the end, the reader or readers with the highest scores will get either a short story of their choosing, or to nominate candidates for the next story/game/SSS/thing or some other prize of that type. I'll also allow everyone to guess (once) at the identity of the killer and their motive via DM. The first person, if anyone, to get it right before sunset in the story will get a prize equal to winning the top score.

So it's a little weird and different, but I hope that most of that makes sense. Game mechanics will be explained again on the front page of the new story, but bottom line: follow your heart with your votes. Don't overthink it!
